MemberOvomorphFebruary 26, 2012I apologize if this plot speculation/leak/fan made has been posted before. But there are a lot of materials here that explains the scenes in the teaser (for example: the powerful storm that blows Shaw away, the old, frail man the mercenary types are protecting). This one has the story of the crew divided between followers of the God/Jockey and non-followers. Very interesting parts are in bold. But when the plot shifts gear into a monster movie in the 3rd act, it sounds very cheesy. Anyway, here it is.
PROMETHEUS (aka PARADISO)
[familiar beginning of discovery in Africa, and star coordinates excised] ....the Prometheus enters the alien planet system. While the Prometheus stays in orbit, the crew uses the Magellan space shuttle to land on the planet. Upon exploration they discover remains of a pyramid leading to a temple entombed in cave galleries. The temple’s enter is all stone but once inside it’s all biomechanical architecture. The humans venture deeper inside, discovering hundreds of strange urns around a giant sculpture of a human head with biomechanical features.
While searching it they trigger a mechanism that "opens" the head to reveals a gigantic chair, a creature seated in. It starts waking up, the humans are scared shitless but mesmerized. The huge creature moves out of his chair. It’s standing over the humans, towering 7 fts tall over their head. Suddenly its chest "opens" revealing inside a humanoid being. He was actually wearing a biomechanical spacesuit/armor. Exhausted by his wake up from years (centuries?) of cryo sleep, he falls out of his biomechanical suit. He's brought back to the Magellan and an urn with him. The humanoid aka the Engineer still unconscious is under medical observation. The crew’s amazed by how close he is to the human anatomy.
Meanwhile the urn is analyzed but its content accidently contaminates a science officer plunging him into coma, something starts to grow in his abdominal area. The Engineer awakens and tells his story. He’s the last of his race, a civilization of explorers, scientists, creators, gods to the humans. He was one of their leaders, a scientist with incredible knowledge. The humans are one of the many experiments throughout the universe that he conceived, their initial purpose being slave labor.
The Engineer’s impressed by the level of intelligence his creation reached. He has lengthy interaction with the Prometheus’ crew learning more about the world the humans
have made for themselves. David, the artificial human’s his favorite interlocutor.
He admires his precise mind and emotionless decisions.Their relation is closely monitored by Meredith Vickers, the company’s suit. The Engineer shares some of his seemingly magical technology with the crew. He reveals that his temple is actually some sort of Noah’s ark, the urns containing the DNA of his people. The Engineer’s quite charismatic, charming even but as it will be revealed he’s also a mischievous and very perverse creator. He promises a new Paradise to the ones who will obey and accept him as their God.
Some do, the others question his identity and agenda. Tension rises…The Engineer tricks his followers into being impregnated by the contents of the urns, promising them that they will become his equal once their DNA is modified. But what the followers don’t know is that the urns are actually past experiments that the Engineer’s tested on his own race, leading to their extinction. He became so obsessed with his experiences, whose ultimate goal is to create the perfect organism, that he only envisioned his people as source material, as lab rats. Those experiments are highly compatibles with human DNA since it’s close to the Engineer’s.
Meanwhile in the medical bay, the contaminated science officer starts to convulse.
Something eviscerates his guts and takes control of him. Bones cracks, skin shreds, his body morphs into a terrifying creature that immediately attacks the crew member present in the room.
The Engineer orders his followers to kill all the non-believers and leaves the Magellan. Vickers follows him to his temple, which is actually housing his spaceship (seen in the opening of the
movie). There he initiates the transformation of the alien planet into the promised Paradise.
The battle rages on aboard and outside the Magellan, where the weather is reaching apocalyptic proportions as the planet started its transformation. The followers have already killed some non-believers and they have the upper hand when the Creature appears and attacks with incredible savagery. The surviving followers start to convulse and morph too.
On their way to the temple to settle the score with the Engineer, the non believers manage to kill a few creatures but the cost is high and only two survivors are left, Elizabeth Shaw and David the artificial human. They make it to the temple just in time as the alien spaceship’s starts its ascent. Creatures also made it, ready to attack the survivors but they settle down and behave as the Engineer, their master, enters the room. He’s impressed by Shaw’s skills to survive.
He’s willing to forgive her if she accepts him as her true God then turns to David offering him a place at his side. A place that David’s “sister” already accepted he says as Vickers enters the room. Like David, Vickers is an artificial human. Her mission was to make sure that the exploration team would bring back any alien technology that would be discovered to the Weylan Company at any cost. But not anymore, she has now other plans for her makers.
The alien spaceship is now in space. Below, the planet’s almost finished its transformation.
Sky‘s blue, green’s everywhere, oceans rise. On the ground the Magellan has been destroyed.
Only debris remains. The Engineer adds that he will make of David and Vickers more than just artificial creatures thanks to his technology and offers this new Paradise as a gift.
The alien spaceship descends toward the planet. David’s conflicted by this God who’s treating him like an equal and his allegiance to his human creators. But when the Engineer reveals his plan to set course toward Earth and reap what he sowed to continue his experience, David takes a stand against him. He throws the contents of an urn at the Engineer’s face. Whose laughs turns into a shriek as his chest is punctured by a creature never seen before. The Engineer has a devilish smile as he watches the creature. The perfect organism… It jumps at the Engineer’s face finishing him off viciously. Vickers runs into hiding as the followers/creatures resume their attack. The newborn Creature grows at an exponential rate, just a few minutes later it’s bigger than a man. The followers/creatures stop their attack as they seem afraid by the now huge Creature. It attacks them with incredible savagery ripping them to bloody bits and pieces.
The 2 Prometheus survivors flee deeper into the alien spaceship, playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the Creature. Shaw is discovered but David lures the creature to another direction. He orders Shaw to run for cover as he provokes the Creature. She refuses and fights back with a flamethrower, but the weapon runs dry. Thanks to David’s super-human strength and speed they manage to resists the creature’s attacks. David gets close enough to badly wound the Creature with his bare hands. But when he’s about to give the fatal blow the unmanned spaceship crashes on Paradise.
Minutes after the crash. The alien spaceship is in bad shape. Smoke’s everywhere.
A large part of the hull is ripped open, letting the sunlight in. The Creature’s lying in a pool of blood, motionless. Nearby David, who seems to be dead. A sun beam awakens Shaw, she looks like hell but she made it ok. She walks toward the hull opening, feeling the heat of the sun on her skin as she covers her eyes. The sunlight is blinding after so many years in the darkness of space. For a moment she forgets about everything, she gazes at the view of the virginal planet.
Reminding her images of what Earth looked like just a century ago. Shaw comes to her senses, sees David’s body and runs toward him but Vickers stops her with one violent blow that sends her flying all across the room. Vickers’s raving about the new worlds she’ll create and what she’s going to do to humanity with the technology that God himself’s left her. She will not let an unworthy human soil Paradise. Shaw escapes to the primal planet. She runs as far, as fast as she can, exhausted she hides near a huge waterfall. But Vickers’s fast, she’s quickly on her. They fight but Shaw doesn’t stand a chance. Vickers grabs her by the throat and is about to drop her into the waterfall when her chest explodes.
