OvomorphMember40 XPAug-27-2013 5:09 PMThe first looked like a serial killer, and after that...little by little we start to see the animal. So for me the best of all is the first Alien.

OvomorphMember0 XPAug-29-2013 12:15 PMI prefer the 'Aliens' Xenomorph head sculpt but the tail of the 'Alien vs Predator' Xenomorph is a lot cooler in my opinion

Chris
EngineerAdmin22516 XPAug-31-2013 11:13 AMEasily Giger's original design for ALIEN. Unlike Aliens, Alien Resurrection and the AvP films, it showed the Alien as an intelligent creature, instead of a mindless soldier. As much as I do like the "Hive" ideas which were developed in ALIENS, I much prefer the sole Alien haunting a crew in confined spaces. Way more terrifying.

OvomorphMember4 XPSep-07-2013 2:44 PMThe first for me as well. I believe that was the first-time, that anything 'alien' looked truly fear-inducing authentic, on-screen. The reports concerning the audiences of '79 freaking-out; weren't exaggerated in the slightest. I became afraid to eat eggs, & eventually convinced myself I had an 'ALIEN' growing inside me (for about 2 months).

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-18-2013 7:40 PMthe original is my fave by far. i love the head and how you can see the scull underneath. i prefer the large jelly filled sensory organ that was described for the first alien...
the hard ridge heads dont make any sense to me on how they can detect anything since they seems to have no ocular cavities, no nasal cavity, so on.

XenomorphMember1221 XPOct-01-2013 3:12 PMThe one in alien because it was like human being trapped inside a monster that is uinable to control its instincts inspite of its intelligence. The horror of this was never explored a2 - a4. Prometheus though might touch upon it again.

OvomorphMember0 XPOct-11-2013 10:02 AMThe original Alien is probably the best portrayal of the creature. For the first time in Sci-Fi, we got an alien creature that felt truly alien. It was not humanoid or like a creature. It felt like an intelligent, terrifying being that blew everyone's imagination.

DinoFights
OvomorphMember0 XPOct-11-2013 8:01 PMThe original. As said before, AVP's Xenomorph had an awesome tail but the first film's Xeno had a cooler look minus the tail.

OvomorphMember0 XPOct-12-2013 12:40 PMThink that the alien queen in Aliens was probably the best design in my opinion, definitely queen size and had the enormous head fin at the back. Giger's brain child was always the creative advisor on the films and it seemed that the more alien films were made the wackier the designs would become, check out the alien is resurrection.

OvomorphMember0 XPNov-05-2013 2:34 PMThe original and the Deacon. AVP aliens look awful, I could stand them in resurrection because they were mutants but to say that's what Aliens really look like bugs me.
Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.

'All my blah, blah, blah'
The Lurker (Classic Alien) is closest, but I honestly don't think we have ever truly seen the perfect representation of a Xeno to be honest, at least not yet.
At the first light of this Unrelenting Dawn, all will see the world for it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s entirety, not just it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s shadows.

Brunomorph
OvomorphMember0 XPDec-26-2013 9:45 PMThere is no perfect portrayal. In every single film, they are in a different environment. The Alien in the first film was more simple, due to the fact it's environment was simple. In Aliens, the Xenomorphs are more Killing-Machine like due to the fact that the environment was more of a kill or be killed, and the fact that there was actual weapon resistance. (the flamethrower in Alien doesn't count, because there was no offspring in the film, so they didn't evolve.) What i'm trying to say is the creature designers for all films designed them specifically, as if they had evolved for the environment they lived in. But, again, that's just my opinion.

OvomorphMember0 XPFeb-11-2014 7:05 PMI have to say the design from ressurection and their behavioral quirks were my favourite ones, like you could see the level of cunning that was being used.

OvomorphMember0 XPMar-04-2014 6:23 PMI like the hive idea alot. Since they multiply fast it makes cool seens like in aliens vs predators. Plus, when controlled by a hive mind they still seem to be smart, like grid.

KingKaijuGojira
ChestbursterMember926 XPJul-05-2014 7:41 PMThe orignial design made by the late H.R.Giger was the best, the (2004) AVP design would be what I consider the second best followed by the ALIENS design as third best portrayal.

PraetorianMember4185 XPFeb-25-2015 10:00 PMThe Only true Xenomorphs are from ALIEN (1979), ALIENS (1986), and ALIEN 3 (1993).
Also Loved the Deacon and its relative as closley related Xenomorphoids.
The Predalien was acceptable.
Alien Ressurection Xenos were hybrids mutant ofspring which were also acceptable but the AVP xenos were retaded some-how Alien ressurection-esque false Xenomorphs.
I hated the AVP Xenomorphs including exspecially Grid (who was a mary sue xenomorph).

OvomorphMember0 XPMar-02-2015 3:30 AMavp jus did not have the horror factor to it, the films jus werent taken seriously enough when considering the previous movies that made them what they are, the originals were what made that magic, why not stick to that formula? it was realistic and scary and didnt need a modern special fx makeover

OvomorphMember81 XPMar-14-2015 5:22 PMThe original Alien design is perfect. All they need to do i slightly articulate the fingers a litle more and CGI the tail. I always thought the fingers could split into two when required. Six fingers which need to function better. These actually link the face hugger to he adult Alien, maybe slightly longer, Perfection. Having said that I did love the look of the Dog/Ox Xeno in A3. This was ripped off by Gigers fabulous original design. Thats why it worked. Just stick with Giger's dark world and all will be great. Looks like Neil is doing this, looking at his previz images so far.

OvomorphMember81 XPMar-14-2015 5:35 PM
Also, to get around the fact that later xeno's seem to have evoled with the extra elongared dog like Raptor legs. If they simply elongated the original feet the original looking Alien could choose to stand upright and flat footed or up on point when moving fast. This would create a link with the incorrect leg structure of the later films.

OvomorphMember81 XPMar-14-2015 5:43 PMAnd of course the original head design.

FacehuggerMember159 XPMar-18-2015 6:22 AMHands down, the Xenomorph from the original 1979 'Alien'. As soon as they removed the semi-transparent dome where you can vaguely make out the eye sockets of a human-like skull underneath and made it's movements like a bug instead of the smooth, fluid-like (almost sensual) movements from the original Giger interpretation, they stripped away a large layer of the fear the first instilled in me.

DeaconMember10416 XPJul-23-2015 7:14 AMFirst time post to the Alien 5 forum...
I know i am going to come under a lot of fire for this...
But Alien 1979 the Alien was hardly seen and movie was dark, and to me it did look a bit like a Man in a Suit but by no means do i think it was poor, for 1979 it was good and the close up prop work was fantastic.
I actually think both versions have their place and purpose in the franchise.
I do prefer the look of the Original Aliens head however, and so yes a modern look based on the Smooth Head is the one i favor.

Something like above...
I also dont think the Xeno from Aliens was mindless they was acting as far as a purpose within its Hive Colony and they actually showed a lot of intelligence and out thinking the Humans on LV 426 on more than one occation.
If anything was a mindless killer it was the Original Alien, all it did was pick people off and looked like it just killed them, it performed no purpose but to kill (end of story)... In Aliens they protected the Queen, and Eggs and Captured Hosts to all allow for the procreation of its kind... They acted like more Intelligent Ants/Bees/Termites where as the Alien in 1979 movie was just a Space Great White Shark...
However.... the DC of Alien showed us a purpose to this Organism which was to procreate its own kind... and indeed showed the Organism did not kill the crew, well it did but it used two of them as Hosts for Procreation.... Why not use all the crew? Why just two?
This is where i always had the theory that the Alien Drones purpose was to go out and use Genetic Material of One Organism to allow for the creation of a Egg that would host a Queen and also the capture of another Host to play Host for the Queen Face Huger or what ever came out of the Egg that Brett was being changed into.
Once a Queen is born, it can then go on and produce Eggs..
And so thus the Xeno Eggs will produce a Organism based on the needs for procreation of its own kind... Pretty Much how Ants/Bees and Termites can manipulate Eggs to produce a variety of types of its own species depending upon the need of the Hive.

DeaconMember10416 XPJul-23-2015 7:20 AMAlien Resurection Xenos i also liked as they was kind of a mixture of elements from every Adult Organism within the Franchise
This sculpture of the Original Giger Alien.. is something that would be nice to see on screen..

Ofcourse there is another that Giger did, he had two Original Aliens before a 3rd was done that was used as basis for our Alien.. likewise Giger designed two more Face Hugers too.
For those who never liked the AVP movies as far as being a Cash Cow Pop Corn fest... i actually think that Alien 5 will give us pretty much the same... Alien 5 i think would be very similar to Alien Resurection as far as Xeno Scenes... basically going to give us a movie where again Xenos are unleashed after being kept and experimented on in a Company Outpost like they was on the Space Station.
Alien Resurection showed us Genetic Experiments on Alien DNA that led to the many failed Clones of Ripley and i think similar Genetic Experiments will happen to produce a few different Xenomorphs.
