That Far Away Moon in Alien: Earth – is it LV-426?

AdminEngineerAugust 23, 2025Morrow reveals the Xenomorph and eggs were harvested from a far away moon. He does not allude to having to steal the eggs from a giant Queen or hive, which suggests to me the eggs were kept in stasis, like on board the Derelict in Ridley Scott’s original. The blue light barrier used on the Maginot to mimic the stasis environment onboard the crashed Juggernaut ship also suggests to me that Weyland-Yutani stole or adopted this technology from the Engineers upon discovering the downed ship.
This would also explain why the Nostromo gets re-routed to LV-426 2 years later - to harvest more eggs cause in Alien: Earth they all likely get destroyed.
Kinda lacklustre storytelling but at least it “could” fit the canonical timeline AND we know Noah Hawley did express plans to connect the series to the original Alien film in later seasons if given the chance.

LV426 seems like the most likely source for the xeno eggs. I don't know if they're using any of the Prometheus extra features material as part of the back story or not, but I recall reading that Peter Weyland intended to go on to LV426 if the mission to LV423 proves fruitless. I also recall that Weyland had already intercepted the beacon signal from LV426 prior to the launch of Prometheus so clearly the company was interested in going there.
Series creator Noah Hawley was not to keen on focusing on the backstory from the prequels.
[Quote] "For me, and for a lot of people, this 'perfect life form'—as it was described in the first film—is the product of millions of years of evolution that created this creature that may have existed for a million years out there in space," he told KCRW. "The idea that, on some level, it was a bioweapon created half an hour ago, that’s just inherently less useful to me."

Thank you neomorph for sharing the Time article. As much as I like the character David I never liked the concept that he created the xeno. Apparently Noah Hawley also prefers an ancient alien. I still believe the eggs were found on LV426, but how they got there and how the Maginot found them may be open questions.
I hope David is behind all these plans even he is not in the show.
Also I wonder if all Aliens will be destroyed towards the end of ALIEN EARTH. In ALIENS, it seems all those corporations have no clues on the existence of these creatures (as mentioned during the debrief with Ripley).

Too many storylines going in too many different directions. It's confusing. They need to tie them all together to that monster once and for all. Maybe then they can stop creating stupid movies about it. As far as corporations having no idea, didn't that creepy little guy send that family to that ship knowing full well what was on it. That room full of lawyers are a room full of liars. Also, the money man just said millions, not trillions like they keep saying in Alien Earth. These Alien movies and series need some consistency.
Love SciFi, continuity is definitely an issue for a number of reasons. First, the original Alien was released in 1979 and is set in the year 2122. Aliens was released in 1986 and was set in the year 2179. Aliens was also written and directed by different people than Alien, and was less of a horror movie and more of an action movie. Our current TV show is set in 2120, so technically the events of Alien and Aliens haven't happened yet. The prequels might be ignored completely for the purposes of this show (seems possible), but perhaps there is an intent to link up with Alien and maybe Aliens to "fix" some of the inconsistencies. As to the dollar values back in 1986 millions of dollars was still a lot of money. The concept of a trillionaire is something fairly recent.
I caught the distant moon bit and am uncertain what to make of it. I honestly don't believe he means LV 426 as rerouting space truckers to acquire a specimen wouldn't make much sense after a research team full of professionals and at least one cyborg. Why send blue collar working class types? It might be too early making assumptions to what this means. I'm certain we'll probably get a flashback episode before the season is up. At this rate the emphasis on Alien Earth being it's own continuity is becoming more apparent. Prometheus and Covenant already don't matter and by extension Romulus won't happen. I can't even guarantee Earth will lead to Alien at this rate.
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for
I thought David created that horror.
David never made them. He only imitated. There's too much evidence in Prometheus and Alien that debunks David as their creator.

It's not hard to follow. You have one main time line and that goes like this
Prometheus, Alien Covenant, Alien, Alien Romulus, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection
Alien Earth is a self contained storyline free of Scott's prequels.
The Alien vs Predator movies are non canonical. Scott doesn't like the idea of AVP i think mainly because he didn't like Predator. Those will never be canon. We'll see what Predator Badlands does. After 46 years Alien's timeline is still more straightforward than say Terminator and slasher series like Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Agreed – it’s well known now that David merely played in the Engineer’s sandbox, he didn’t create the perfect organism, he tried to mimic it. There is still plenty of mystery left to the Xenomorph’s origins, which I’m thankful for. Praying someone someday picks up where Scott left off 🥲
