MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 5:24 PMThis can be found on this website (not a thread, but an article):
"The Alien in Prometheus will be very reminiscent of the original "Xenomorph" seen in the popular sci-fi Alien series; originally kicked off by Ridley Scott aswell. However, these new creatures are said to be much, much larger than the Xeno's we are familiar with; being a product of Alien DNA and Space Jockey, the Alien product will look different, and will be extremely large in size.
The overall features which make "Alien" so Alien will be easily noticable according to inside sources with minor changes to suit that of the host species; in this case the unfortunate pilot Space Jockey. This follows the original Alien canon of host-dependant characteristics. Aliens born of humans, equal human-Alien crossed byproduct. Aliens born from dogs, equal dog-Alien crossed byproduct. So the fact that an Alien born from the enormous Space Jockey would be larger than that born of a human would make perfect sense.
Whether these Aliens bleed acid or not is still unknown, aswell as the "second jaw" characteristic which was so unqiue to the original "Alien's". Not much is known regarding bodily features, but we do have a small grasp on what to expect in terms of behavior. These Aliens are said to act differently, more perverse and a strong sexual infleuence is hinted in recent sourced news articles regarding the film's progress.
The concept of the infint Alien bursting through the chests of their victims is still rumoured to be a characteristic of these creatures. Which leads us to believe that the classic "Alien life cycle" has not be interrupted in the re-design for this film. But there may be variants, again not much is known this early in developement.
More information regarding the Alien will surface as we reach release, so check back for updates!"
So... If this is true, why is everyone still wondering what the alien(s) will be like? And if it is not true, why is it on the website?

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 5:59 PMNice find Nugent!
This raises the question i've been asking myself, Is the jockey we see in the trailers a hybrid (xeno jockey), the last remaining pure jockey, or the soon to be host?
We can deduce that he rises from the "unbursted" sarcophagus, so does that mean there are 3 Xeno jockeys somewhere on LV223 and he has yet to "birth" his? Why is the temple and ship somewhat clean other than the dead bodies? Wouldnt the Xeno's start to nest in those complexes?

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 6:22 PMpretty sure this came out a while ago and was dismissed as false.

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 6:53 PMIf you notice, that article was published on 18th Apr 2011. Much has changed since then ;)
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 7:03 PMHmm I think everything has changed now! For example the facehugger is smaller and cobra like. The chestburster from what we have seen is now a MOUTHBURSTER!. The adult alien has yet to be seen except for a tentacle appendage! My thoughts are that these aliens are either the ancestors/descendants of the Aliens seen in ALIEN! These beings are also more organic than biomechanical!

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 7:17 PM...just an after thought, I have maintained this from the beginning, it is only logical. I haven't wondered at all about that since we got the first images from the first leaked trailer spot.

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 7:23 PMThere is no need to remove that article, IMO, it's part of the story and evolution of Prometheus, and as such it has to be contextualized.

MemberFacehuggerMay-06-2012 7:23 PMWouldn't it be ironic if this were the "new" model bio weapon? The one on 426 is the outdated version BECAUSE it killed the pilot all those millennia ago. They needed a weapon that couldn't be used against them.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

MemberOvomorphMay-07-2012 1:59 AMYeah it could be false, but if it is why is it still on this website,
Also, if you go to the cast section it reveals massive spoilers (if it isn't false) and even mentions who dies. Luckily I looked away quickly enough and read no more, and it left me thinking why would the people running this website put that stuff on?

MemberOvomorphMay-07-2012 5:03 AMI personally think that the "Xeno" type creature in Prometheus, will be the one that is responsible for the hundreds of eggs found in the Derelict in Alien. With this being my thought. . .
I believe that these proto-Xeno creature is actually a hybrid of Jockey-Xeno, and is the creature we'll see in this film, also this creature will breed in a way that it doesn't need sexual reproduction as such, that goo stuff will be it's way of reproducing it's DNA.
