The Xenomorph seen in the Alien: Earth teaser trailer was not CGI apparently! As it was discovered on the Joelsons' website (official site for the teaser's Executive Producer and Director of Photography), a batch of behind-the-scenes photos from the teasers production reveLed a full scale practical Xenomorph suit being utilized!
Fans will be quick to notice some design differences with this Xenomorph compared to previous incarnations - primarily the size of the dorsal tubes and lack of spines. Check it out:
Showrunner Noah Hawley has expressed previously a favoritism for practical effects over reliance on CGI alone, with WETA Workshop providing practical suit effects for the show.
