While Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus has been getting most of the attention lately, news on Noah Hawley's Alien TV series (reportedly titled Alien: Prodigy) has started to pick up! A fresh interview between show actress Sandra Yi Sencindiver and Variety have revealed new details about the show's plot - most interestingly revealing the series will explore the formation of the Weyland-Yutani corporation!

Executive produced by Scott, the is show set on Earth before “Prometheus” and will reportedly explore the formation of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race to create android life. Sencindiver, a “huge ‘Alien’ fan,” who says she watched “Aliens” on repeat as a child, plays a crucial character named Yatani.
Sandra goes on to explain fans of the first two Alien films will especially appreciate the world-building storytelling Noah Hawley is providing with the series:
I think that especially the fans who love films No. 1 [Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’] and 2 [James Cameron’s ‘Aliens’] will be very pleased with the universe and the world-building in this reimagining. A lot of brilliant people, a lot of very interesting character actors [who are] very dedicated and, of course, Noah Hawley is just a brilliant storyteller.

While the Alien: Prodigy series and Alien: Romulus movie are not directly linked, they both heavily draw influence from the first two Alien films in the series. Alien: Prodigy acts as a prequel series while Alien: Romulus acts as an Alien sequel / Aliens prequel.
The Alien series is expected to wrap filming this summer with a projected release set for next year.
