Pictured above is Lacey Malice, one of the crew who have been working tirelessly on Alien: Covenant the last few weeks in Australia. As you can see (below as well) she's sporting a very cool looking USCSS COVENANT crew jacket, similar to the ones Fox teased a few months back. The Weyland-Yutani Covenant patch is embroidered on the sleeve.
Noomi Rapace Info on Instagram shared another photo, of a similar jacket, again sporting the same patch.
But what's got us most excited is this new photo Alien: Covenant effects crew, Odd Studio just shared to Instagram. The photo below is of a few of Odd Studio employees and actor Danny McBride!
Now, if you look closely... you can see a Xenomorph on the front of the ball cap of the gentleman on the far right. Here is a zoomed in shot:
The emblem itself looks more inline to that of the classic Weyland logo. I would also like to note that this seems like a "fan-made" cap and therefore is not indicative of what the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant will look like, nor does its patch represent one that will be in the film. I doubt the company would plaster a Xenomorph to the front of their brand logo. But regardless, it is interesting!

The state of the Alien: Covenant sequel continues to remain uncertain. Ridley Scott has mentioned previously that they have a story already in place and know exactly where the sequel to Covenant will go, however the recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox film properties by Disney have potentially put the rumored-to-be-titled Alien: Awakening on hold for the time being. The logo is clearly based on the Holy Grail, with the two Seraphim touching wings. This refers to alchemy, which means to fuse with God (Al = God; Khemi (chemistry) = Fusion). Since alchemy is a sexual process we may see this as alluding to the ultimate intention; to fuse with the xenomorph as an equal? Instead of being ‘taken over’ or defeated by the xeno?
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Imagine the perspective of the Engineers, which would be to take two ultra violent species and set them off against each other with the intention of engineering a super species – one much more violent than the parts could possibly be together.
Also, if you look at a Caduceus with the two serpents entwined around a staff (3.5 times each, both adding to 7) with the tails not yet touching, these are the two species; Ida and Pingala, or maybe human and xeno? The next stage of evolution is when the two tails / wings connect and create a spark (the legend of Prometheus), this spark then creates the next level being.
The androids Ash and David had this in their program to assist in the two fusing together. Remember Ripley’s seemingly confusing love for the xeno at the end of A3, and her obsession to return to face them in A2?
Looks like a Xenomorph but what kind is hard to say from that image..
If only we had a close up....
We have seen the clipper board Ultramorph and i am trying to work out if the dome on that Cap image is more like the Ultramorphs more elongated but thinner, or more like the Xenomorph in Alien?
The Hands however that we saw being worked on, does seem to be different to others we have seen in the franchise...
The Alien Xeno, Alien 3 runner and Ultramorph concept for Alien Engineers (Prometheus) had 6 digits set out as two opposing thumb/pinky hybrid with two sets of middle fingers that where split.
Aliens the two middle fingers split was more joint from bellow where the Middle Phalangers start.. (second knuckles)
AVP and Alien R we had just 4 digits where the center two double digits are fused into one each.
But the Alien Covenant seems like a Human Hand layout but more Xeno style skin, but as far as bone structure it looks like a standard Humanoid 5 digits where however the Thumb is a split digit more like Aliens middle fingers split than the Alien/Alien 3 ones.
So i think the Xenomorph or at least one kind we would be seeing is different and fresher take on one of the designs...
Yeah BigDave, I like the five digits....More of a humanoid look....Maybe the human race will evolve into the Xenomorph in 4-5 million years, well adapted for space and dangerous planets...Humans can't stay on Earth forever. I can see us taking on a similar shape....we are violent enough to put the Xeno's to shame.
@Cal Alex, awesome reply and what an awesome idea:
"What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Imagine the perspective of the Engineers, which would be to take two ultra violent species and set them off against each other with the intention of engineering a super species – one much more violent than the parts could possibly be together."
Fascinating and intriguing, imagine if this is I'm fact something that's shown in Covenant. I think you're on to something!
Yes Chris that is interesting point that Cal Alex made.
Maybe could be similar to what the Source claimed as far as the Punishment of some of the Fallen Angels in Paradise Lost (being turned into Serpents) is seen as in context of Prometheus 2 as Freedom from Bondage.
May the Hierarchy punished the Fallen, but the Punishment was then used to other Engineers advantage.
I always liked the Prometheus connection and saw the Fresco of the Engineer and that creature as being something related to Prometheus and his punishment rather than Adam and God Fresco.
So the Prometheus (Fallen Angel or Angels) are punished that create something else, that then bears something else that the Fallen Angels can then use against their creators and other non-fallen Angels?
