When I first watched prometheous i assumed that the deacon would be in the sequel. Once I found out when and were alien covenant was taking place, that went down the drain. now in awakening, what may or may not be the last alien prequel, I am strugguling to understand how the deacon is going to be in it and if not, why it neaded to be introduced. there is a possibility that it was just to make people know that prometheous was actually an alien movie but I feel that would be a waste of a very cool creature design that has the potential for an even cooler adult form.
honetsly, the only way i can think of the deacon being in the next movie was if the trilobite in prometheous didn't have any different affects then a face hugger. then in awakening if an engineer gets inpregated(witch it mostlikly will) the deacon would be jst a juvinile form of an ultramorph.
let me know if you have any other possibilitys for the deacon in awakening.

i think the deacon was for the fans to soften the blow of RS going in another direction plus to connect the engineers to the xeno. Shaw and David were gna go off and follow a different path to the beast by looking for the engineers so we get the deacon. plus it looks like the creature in the mural so it fits rather than ppl complaining that it wasn't the xeno.
im disappointed in how they handled the deacon but theres nothing to say we wont see it or others again. after all, we have to return to that area whether it be lv 223 or 426 anyway so we could or should get a conclusion to the deacon. I don't believe they can polish the series off and tie into alien in just one more movie. theres too much to explore and to do it right and in any meaningful way would take 2 movie imo. only I see it done in one movie is if the skip everything on origae6. David is done with his experiments and leaves or is ready to leave that planet. pretty pointless if u ask me but its cheap and gives RS and the studio so many ways of answering questions by just making **** up to answer what he did down there.

If Awakening is the last movie to tie into the original, it will contain the Space Jockey explanation, more on the Engineers and their culture, and the Deacon. All of this will have to wrap up in one movie because after that, you will have 3-4 movies full of material not at all related to any of the pre-1979 movie. I could imagine RS deciding to say he will add on to the end of the franchise to explore more, but it wouldn't be possible to in the timeline of films to show all of this new expanding material (Engineers, Deacon, Space Jockey story, etc) in the prequels, to then ignore them for Alien-Alien Resurrection, then bring them back again, when by that point it's already been hundreds of years in the in-film timeline. I'm excited to see how they squeeze it all together in one film since they almost have to. I feel they will try to make it a revelation type film, where as the movie progresses, you're being shown all this stuff that makes you go "Oooh, ok. Now that makes sense." But in the grand scheme of things, only Prometheus gave me that feeling, the rest have just been regular Alien movies with nothing spectacular to walk away with.

Scott's clout does not extend past one or two more movies. Fox will have him replaced for sure once and if they let him tie up his loose ends to Alien.

As ali81 had said the Deacon was there to give the fans some Xeno DNA, it was also there to show us that those experiments on LV-223 are related to the Xenomorph DNA
LV-223 is a very Large Piece of the Puzzle
It deserves to be covered, for a number of reasons.. none have to do with the Deacon
1) We have to assume a company mission returns to LV-223 at some point, why did no one check it out after Prometheus? surely if they did not, then once they receive Davids Transmission you would think at this point they would then be sending a mission to LV-223 and Origae-6
2) The Engineers return to Planet 4, what do they know about LV-223 and what state to they believe this place is in? They would now have TWO options... Eradicate Mankind, or Eradicate LV-223 or attempt both.
3) LV-426 is located close to LV-223 at some point if Davids Creation ends up on the Juggernaught its logical to assume a Engineer ship will have his creation and happen to be near the LV-223/426 System before ending up as the Derelict... LV-426 is no where near Origae-6 it cant be... so we have to ask WHY/WHEN does a Engineer ship end up at that system.
The Deacon was Ultimately a Plot Device its purpose no more than those experiments in Davids work-shop in Alien Covenant... The Question of what happens next to the Deacon depends on a few things.
*How long does the Deacon live for?
*How does the Deacon Procreate?
*Are there any Engineers on LV-223?
*Does any Human or Engineer Missions every return to LV-223 at any point in future.
I think it would have been interesting to explore the Deacon more, and its open to if we ever see it again or not. However the Process of how a Deacon was created could be replicated for sure, even if we never return to LV-223.

dk, u could very well be right but I really hope we get more of the deacon.

Great points Bigdave, the Engineers will likely find the downed ship from LV-223 and return there to see what happened at the very least even without Walter's input.

Indeed you would think that is one place the Engineers would look, we need to look at the evidence they will discover, which include Dead Human Bodies, some Wreckage of the Covenants Lander but then its a case of would these Engineers recognize these bodies as being Human? If so and they are aware of who Humans are, then would Humans only exist on Earth? If so then they would know were to look.
The Problem with this is i would think the Engineers would have to arrive many years latter and at a time that David is either very close to Origae-6 or arrived on Origae-6 if not years after.. And so if the Engineers arrive say 7,8 or 9 years latter we have to wonder what condition would the Human Bodies be in?
But maybe Dr Shaws Body would still be in as good a preserved state...
They would not doubt investigate the Crashed Juggernaught and discover that it had Human Looking Crew, they would recognize one of the Stowaways as the Body in Davids Work Shop and the other as Walters Body. They would discover the ship came from LV-223 and so they would certainly be interested in investigating depending what they know about LV-223 and the Status they believed it was in.
I think eventually we shall get to LV-222, but i feel the Engineers may go to Origae-6 first.

As far as the Deacon is concerned the possibility of it being seen again cant be ruled out unless Dr Shaw was a Freak Occurrence and such a Experiment could not be replicated again. A lot depends on exactly how this happened.
Did using the Non-Activated Substance from the Glass Ampoules effect this? Would consuming the Black Goo that leaked from the Urns in a small dose do the same?
Was the infection from Mutated Sperm that Fertilized Shaws Eggs?, or was a Parasitic Worm Transmitted to Dr Shaw via Sexual Intercourse and it Fertilized Shaws Eggs? Or Finally can the Parasitic Worm simply Grow into a Organism?
