How 'Alien: Covenant' Does What the Original Refused To2,062 Views3 RepliesAdd A Reply
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.
" So, with Covenant in theaters, it’s worth discussing one of many reasons why the original Alien succeeds, because it’s a big reason why (for me at least) Covenant doesn’t: it embraces the mystery of the situation instead of explaining everything."
Sums up everyone who was disappointed with Prometheus and Covenant. Just stick with the KISS method.
Also, as a strictly raised catholic that diverted to agnostic; I do not care about all the religious hoopla.
How the problems in 2019 with androids took a century and a half to contain with behavioral inhibitors with Bishop lol.

Thought I'd add as the counter position to your experience, I am a strictly raised protestant that ignored my religion as a teenager, became a true Christian believer/thinker in my 20's, and then eventually thought my way into the agnostic realm as well.
That said, I can't deny I do love the religious hoopla of these films. Very much because I like playing with the idea that there may be some truth to these religious myths, but the reality may turn out to be a completely horrific nightmare.
Always was a fan of the big "GOTCHA!"
