Some reviews have been making their way online as the movie premiered in Korea and today in London.
Attached is is a link for those reviews. There is an embargo on what can be talked about but some stuff has made its way onto Reddit.
The good old news is that the reviews have been positive thus far.

I dont want to start a thread so i ll attach in here;why was
imdb rating changed from R or 18 to now 16?
[heavy breathing]

I think Britain gave it a 15 Certificate which meant people had to be over 15? Whatever- as long as it is good I don't care how they rate it.

As for the rating, I have no idea. I know that here in the US it is "R" but that could be intense scenes, nudity and language.
As for the reviews, good thus far and Chris twittered that he will be doing a write up in the next few days. The embargo ends tomorrow, so I am sure that we will see spoilers about the plot tonight at midnight.

Those reviews look great! Described as "Elegant and Terrifying".............nice

I would rather wait for Chris to get ducks in a row for a few days- jet lag and all and do it right instead of impulsive reviews done right off the cuff.

Yeah, I think he is going to do that. He had mentioned in his tweet that there was much to chew on and ponder, which is a good thing and i know that he will write up a good review and analysis.

It would be great if they gave him a press DVD so he could revisit parts he may have forgotten so he can give a measured review.

Long time lurker first time poster - just to let you guys know Paul Shirey from JoBlo tweeted that the film is quality: "AlienCovenant is an intense, strange and nightmarish continuation of the franchise. A great companion to Prometheus & the Alien mythos."
How true this is or whether it will hold up? I don't know. But it's definitely encouraging.
Also: apologies if this repeating anything from the link or elsewhere on the forum. I don't think it is, tho.

Hey LV, I just saw that tweet not too long ago. Let us up that his words ring true when we see it.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed. And thanks for the welcome guys!

I heard the embargo lifts Saturday but then I heard on another site Sunday..Do any of you know which is the correct answer?

It would have been great to see the Engineers return and destroy David and take the Xeno eggs in this film but it will go as we already know...it would have made such a powerful impact, but like the prometheus it just fell flat on its face...the first script was powerful, energetic.
At the end only Danny McBride and Katherine Waterson's character survive. David killed Shaw and replaces Walter as the robot, while holding the embryos on the escape ship. It is implied that he will continue to experiment upon humans and eventually become the creator of the Xenomorph, and that is why Weyland Corp. created a second version (Walter) since David is abit ****ed up in the head.

Still hard to tell...But good so far...using original alien music...great idea I was hoping for that. It was so good ...if it ain't broke don't fix it!
"It's almost as if they are making it up as they go along" :D

After pondering things a bit, I'll wait for Chris's review. Then I know it's a review I can place some trust in as he's a fellow Fan and the Forum Admin. ;)
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

Not to sound bad, but I will wait for Chris. After all, he met cast members and got interview Sir Ridley effin Scott!

@Jem587 The embargo officially lifts Saturday May 6th @ 8:45 PM pst. Because of the time difference with other countries this why some are saying they are leaving doing reviews till the Sunday

I have been totally obsessed today with checking out the #aliencovenant hashtag...it was awesome seeing McBride, Fass and Katherine on the Green Carpet. They all looked really dapper. Katherine looked really classy.
Did not do any work.
My son is at school in England and he is going to see it next week. I've told him he must remain in the cone of silence until I see it. He really liked Prometheus.
Today I have been dedicated to post on as many topics as possible until I pass out from drinking too many beers.

I seen a few negative comments from the Koreans, but no doubt Davids Bombardment will spark some ideas in the North ;)

Who are these negative reviewers- I know someone who knows someone whom is a member of Anonymous.

BigDave that was not very funny. Remember we are all on the same boat, our MUTHUR Earth

Probably people who have no clue about the Alien Mythos or story.

I have heard a few weeks ago, which i passed on to Chris about someone who has seen the Movie and i wont give to much away.
But Praises are for the attention to detail for the most part with the odd flaw in how some things did not come across as good as others.
The movie is a brutal slasher, that is similar paced to Aliens, those expecting a Prometheus type movie will be a bit disappointed as its not linked that much. It seems to be a Fan Service Popcorn flick like Alien R is, with some of Alien 3 thrown in with a bit of Prometheus.
Seemed to say it may please Fanboys but could disappoint Alien Fans and Prometheus ones. It lacks the Philosophy etc of Prometheus, does not quite deliver Alien Horror but more a Alien 3 but most of it is a more Gory Alien Resurrection.
They give it a 6/10 and rate it as on par with Alien 3 and Prometheus.
Quite a Predictable movie not helped by the amount of footage released, and has 3 Twists but 2 are so predictable.
Has some of the flaws that Prometheus had with Characters not being fleshed out, only same amount who you care for. Big note towards Lope... (Poor Lope).
And those who picked Scientific Faults with Prometheus will have a field day... as well those who did not get Milburn/Fifield and Shaw.

That review doesn't make too much sense to me. I cannot imagine anybody trying to emulate Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection. That would be box office poison. Ridley Scott knows better.
