THE GAYEST MOMENTS IN PROMETHEUS PROVIDED BY DAVID20,404 Views94 RepliesAdd A Reply
I would not claim that David in Prometheus is gay – we have no enough pieces of information concerning this question. But it is easy to see that he provides the gayest atmosphere in the movie.
This feature of the character is not a problem (for me) at all, but in the light of the new insight revealed by Scott regarding the question ”who David really is”, we can jump to the conclusion that David may have been Peter Weyland’s lover.
I had the intention to focus on a theoretical gay relationship between Weyland and David, and I think the possibility is the most important factor of this idea. I have never watched Prometheus with 'gay thoughts' in my mind - wow, that's a strange sentence - but Scott's new comment regarding the first minutes of Alien: Covenant pushed the limits in my view. Scott hints that the beginning of the movie (with more info about the relationship between Weyland and David) will be shocking.
As you know, Blade Runner (directed by Scott) reveals a scene where Tyrell (the creator) and Roy (the created replicant) have a kiss.
This is not a gay kiss - or at least it is much more than a gay kiss. It is a kiss between creator and creation. It is an act of becoming one. Can it be an act of a covenant?
Tyrell and the replicant/Weyland and the android... Creators and creations.
Blade Runner shows a kiss before the death of the creator.
Will Alien: Covenant show a kiss after the birth of the creation?
Is it possible that we should be prepared for something similar at the beginning of Alien: Covenant?
Now we have "Aliens:the Erotic love story"by Neomorph lol
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for
That title tho....
Anyways, David was built as a son, the son Weyland never had. Also David is basically in love with Elizabeth Shaw.
"This question could have been asked in a less, off-color way."
I'm not sure there was a question. It seemed to be 'David colours his hair while watching Lawrence of Arabia and Roy Batty kissed Tyrell once = DAVID IS WEYLANDS GAY LOVER"
Actually to me it makes me think Weyland is a pediphile since he likes having sex with his "son". Butt, I hear it's a thing down south.
Alright folks let's not get carried away here. Discussing whether or not an artificial person is capable of sexual attraction is a fine debate, granted the title is a bit much, but let's not get into dark territory here. We still wish to maintain a higher level of decency on these boards. So let's keep the conversation civil, respectful and tasteful.
CHRIS - I second your motion and stand by it firmly - ready to defend.
We'd need something to debate first. An actual argument needs to be put forward that says 'I think David might be Weyland's sex synth because of x, y and z. What do you think?'
S.M - Your logic, once again, is shown to be quite agreeable. :)

I think there's probably a discussion to be had on sex synths in Alien films, even though it's never been touched on in the films (and not one that shouts "gayest moments" in all caps). With Real Dolls catering to lonely souls, one could imagine a synthetic sex partner that could be turned on and off as required would help with the popularity of androids with consumers. On the other hand, androids in these films seem extraordinarily exclusive and likely expensive.
So David is neat, intelligent and cares about his personal appearance. I don't see what is gay about that. I am pretty sure he would have a witty and scathing response if asked the question.
Vickers: "What did he say? WHAT DID HE SAY DAVID?"
David: "He said to try harder... by the way sis, where DO we keep the Crisco?"
Yes, I agree that David comes across as slightly whoopsie, but that's been made up for by the rather butch couple in A:C, so I'm a happy bunny.
Damn I only released a teaser page of my non-erotical Fifty Shades of Phallus.
Guess I'll have to toss that one away then....
Ok but seriously I get it ;)
S.M – I did not want to hurt you if you are gay. We are just talking. We are talking about a possibility. And I think it is an exciting possibility. I know they say that the gay couple of Prometheus is the Fifield-Milburn duo, but I believe David provides more remarkable features of the atmosphere in question. However, it does not mean that he is gay – and nobody claimed that. So please do not be so rude.
As for the emotion mystery, there are some scenes in Prometheus where one can feel that David does have emotions.
S.M - Mon plaisir, mon ami. :)

Then make a point that can actually be discussed instead of posting pictures of David colouring his hair and being neat and generally indulging in lazy stereotypes.
I tried to help you above discussing sex synths, but you're still not taking this anywhere.
S.M - I don't need your help and I don't agree with you. The topic is not about hair colouring and stereotypes. If you claim that, it means that you haven't read the text or you have problems with reading comprehension. If you think there is no anything to discuss here, please leave the thread. So simple. You don't have to read my posts and make comments.
I read it a number of times. I apologise if I missed the point of this thread, but could you please enlighten me?
Try harder and you will be enlightened - or not. But all the same. You can leave it, so simple...
So there isn't a point, then.
Thanks for clarifying.
Comment by S.M to Neomorph in the CGI... thread:
'Aren't you all just precious delicate little petals when someone disagrees with your desperately important "opinions".'
Thank you for leaving.
Back to the sex synth/Sex Doll angle. Is there a reason why these synths couldn’t be programmed to respond accordingly to one’s orientation based on a need/tactic as a persuasive measure to gain information, plans etc?
If they can make droids as realistic as the ones we see in the films, I can't imagine there would be any limitations other than the ones the creators morally impose, or are legally required.
Since they don't have behavioural inhibitors until the mid 22nd century it would seem the technology got ahead of the law somehow.
"I hear it's a thing down south."
Sorry...could you clarify this? South of where?
Somebody messing with Dixie?
Rick may have been talking about the states- not pedo but a strange mentality- graphic:
@S.M: "South" covers a lot of territory
My friends, please remain cordial. We must not allow anger to override logic and civil discourse. :)
"@S.M: "South" covers a lot of territory"
Maybe they meant Antarctica traffic control...?
Something Real - Thank you for your sweet warning.
