For Alien themed food, it doesn't just have to be burgers. To start the idea, I propose cooked peeled shrimp in a shrimp ****tail bowl called “the Embryo”?
Or crab with a lobster tail posed to look like a face hugger?

It might look like a specimen jar?
I personally really dig the crab and smoked clams idea DK listed above.

It is all about fun and doing as cheaply and easily as possible among friends. Pickling/fermenting is a great idea, is pretty cheap and easy.

Indeed. It could be hollowed out and filled with clams, oysters. fish- whatever creativity, time and budget allow. But that crab vibe definitely is the attention grabber!
