me start by saying I believe Aliens went down the wrong path. In Alien we get a really scary creature with unknown motive's. I loved the egg morphing scene. Imagine you have no control over your body as it breaks down and reforms as an egg, you are alive the whole time. Now that creepy.
Now with Aliens we are given a queen and warriors and now they are more like ants/bees, which takes away the unknown factor of this alien species. The Warriors look more insect like. The queen was garbage in my opinion. She did not look scary and it seemed thrown together. The queen could of been more scary and more bio mechanical. Like the first alien was. The actors i loved but the story and design if the aliens was lazy.
I hope Ridley Scott makes these Aliens scary again. I want fear of the unknown back in these movies.
I

Got a couple, including an Alien Isolation sequel concept

Considering where it left off, it's BEGGING for continuation! :)

BWW and nin- I am curious. Will the writing have different POVs such as that of a synth or other creature?

ALIEN: Manticore will give us the POV from the resident Chimeran aboard...and some POV bits from the ship's mascot. :)
Chimerans, as their name states, are definitively Not-Human. They are closely Human in appearance, but you would soon notice some key physical differences. Psychologically, their mentality is quite different from Homo Sapiens, as is their brain structure.

I think I have heard of Chimerans- are they from novelizations and would I need to research those before reading Manticore?

Chimerans is a name VERY likely used by someone else previous to me, and also the scientific community as a general term, but for my creations it's a shorthand name for; Chimerans Internecivus Sapiens Invictus. IF I encounter copyright issues with it, well, then I'll figure out another name I guess.

Late response lol.For my Isolation sequel idea there will indeed be multiple perspectives.I'm thinking on a way to introduce who Maclaren is,Amanda's husband

Good one!! Well, we know interstellar communication exists, so that could make it easier.

I have to disagree with the OP. Aliens is a great film which expanded on the series.
Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection were the real mistakes.

As per a previous post of mine, I've started laying down the groundwork for a re-telling of ALIENS. This doesn't interfere with ALIEN: Manticore as ALIENS is set is an entirely seperate focus and actually makes for a nice side-project that helps me when I get stuck with Manticore.

Blackwinter-witch A retelling of the Brett/Xeno encounter from Jonsie's POV would be a unique take imo.

Foxxy_User Alien 3 and AR seem like hot button issues around here. I like them all and would describe the series like this:
Alien- Horror
Aliens- Action
A3- Tragedy
AR- Comedy

That's a cool idea for a short-story, and I know someone out there re-told ALIEN from Jonesie's perspective, but there's always room for another effort. :)
That cat got minimal screen-time, but has a cult following all his own :D

You nailed it, with your Classifications of the ALIEN series!!

If I ever did it, I would avoid reading what the other did so as not to influence my take. Unfortunately I am only good for about two pages!

2 pages is more than many people can muster, and in time, you might just find your ability expanding. :)
I won't be looking up the other works, I already have thoughts crystallizing around my memories of the scene and lead-up to it in ALIEN, as you said, such could lend unwanted influence.

I agree with Foxxy above, Alien Resurrection was a huge mistake, not only was it just a shoehorned story to include Ripley for a cash grab but it has some of the worst dialog and cheese ball happenings thtoughout. If it was meant to be comedy it was bad comedy, most of AR well it's in a similar vein and dialog of purposeful cheese like Sharktopuss, plus the tone, mood and corn ball dialog in that does not belong in the alien film universe, to me it's an insult not an addition, as bad as both AVP movies are AR is an abomination in my book, I sleep better at night just pretending AR never happened lol

I just want the fear back in the alien movies. It needs to mysterious and scary and thought provoking. I love the egg morphing idea and really hope to see it return in Alien Covenant.
No more bees or ants or wasps. Give me something original.
Remember " In Space no one can hear you scream"
Not "In Space you need a can of raid"

I agree completely!! You said it so very well!
