MemberFacehuggerMay-14-2014 8:32 AMI just read it. If he will be the director, then we can expect an incredible sci-fi film. The story of it sounds interesting, but it don't think that Ridley Scott has no interest in Prometheus 2 anymore. Besides The 'Martian' he is going to direct 'An football movie', 'The Forever War', 'Blade Runner 2' and finally 'Prometheus 2'. Sounds lot of work. But doesn't filming of Prometheus 2 starts this fall? Or not?

MemberOvomorphMay-14-2014 2:01 PMA disturbing development.
We'll know for sure in the next few weeks or months whether Sir Ridley Scott has abandoned directorial duties on Prometheus 2 or whether he'll make The Martian after it.
What I find amazing is that nobody is able to approach him and just, you know, ASK.

AdminPraetorianMay-14-2014 3:14 PMGuys, Ridley and his production company work on dozens of projects a year, stop freaking out when you hear about them lol!

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2014 1:29 AMIf you take alook at Ridley Scott's wiki page it states that he is due to make an untitled Prometheus 2 movie in 2016.

MemberNeomorphMay-16-2014 11:37 AMI think that he takes on all these projects because he's the kind of person who as to constantly keep himself busy. However, with every project that he takes on, comes uncertanty for the rest of us.
The poster was good though!

MemberFacehuggerMay-16-2014 10:05 PMIt would be ridiculous for Ridley to put Prom2 on the backburner to direct some Mars movie (Don't get me wrong, I'm a total sucker for Mars movies, and the premise sounds very interesting, so I'll probably see it no matter who directs it), but it seems to me that Mars movies have had a very bad history of poor financial success. It would be quite ill-advised for the studio to push Prom2 back for The Martian.

MemberOvomorphMay-17-2014 9:28 AMPatient Leech has a strong solid point there.
Prometheus grossed 400 million + worldwide. Which is more than Mission to Mars, Red Planet and Last Days on Mars combined multiple times over.

MemberFacehuggerMay-18-2014 7:31 PMAnd another thing: that site is really starting to get on my nerves trying to stir up controversy like this. It seems like they did a write up a few months ago speculating that Prom2 wouldn't even get made. Well I say they should be ignored. I think I'm gonna stop giving them hits. I really don't care about their stupid speculations.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2014 10:27 AMDoesn't surprise me...this is part of the problem.Ridley keeps taking on project after project and he's now 74. I know he's a sharp guy for his age but I reckon it's too much for him if only he would put all his focus on fewer films. Really not adding to the idea promtheus was a roaring success yet again...even the director is avoiding it lol! Anyway I reckon it's all still on just getting shaky...saw transcendence the other day as well and yes it was pretty Crap but did have a few interesting bits...not good news.

Another baseless concoction by you.
Just because Ridley is attached to other projects doesn't mean he's "avoiding" Prometheus 2. I'm not sure how well informed you are, but Ridley has spoken about the film publicly in more than one occasion. It was he who broke the news that the script was ready to go. Noomi Rapace has met with Ridley already.
I'd hardly call it actively "avoiding" an upcoming project.
Following your logic, Blade Runner 2 is being avoided as well, because of this Martian news. And when The Counselor was being worked on, he was avoiding Exodus! Brilliant.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2014 12:41 PMYes prometheus was so amazing that they are pumping out part 2 at light speed lol you are not thinking are you. Yes if he's doing other things and it it's pushing other projects back I'll call that avoidance. Maybe bad scripts he's the only one that can see how it's going to look this far. But if you want to think it's wonderful news I'll sit back and have a laugh.
Anyway I'm still hoping it all gets done with bells on...and i think it's still on like of said...allinnumberclad.
