What's up with all the Med Pods?

I thought there was only one on prometheus.... and even Shaw looked impressed with the new technology it was really only for Weyland so probably cutting edge..literally! :)

Hmm... it's almost the same "future" plot from Well's The Time Machine.

It's almost like no one trusts human doctors anymore... just make sure the Med-Pod is not running a Microsoft OS. LOL

" Seek Medical Asstance elsewhere.." Can you imagine Shaw's reation to hearing those words?. Where else would you seek medical assitance? It is not like there is a combo med Center and Hospital just around the corner. To Shaw's credit she just went on..Good for her. But seeing the entirety of the scene it shows the limitatation of technology being in the hands of robots, Sometimes being able to interact with real people dealing with real problems would better than this scene.

I don't see any mention of sex being a factor in the usefullness of the Medpod. After Shaw saw the message about this usint not being for ladies, to her credit quickly enrered a similar produre that would help. Goo dfor her. My question is why was it a male specific unit at all? Even if it was for Weyland only why re-engineer the 'pod for hiumself(Weyland) only? He must have felt threatened by Shaw as the only true believer. Maybe he felt that if anyone survieves it will be me and that is sort of like being a God. Stiil with a human crew wouldn't you think there would be at least one back up for the crew's use? Or even a backup for Weyland's medpod in case some failure affect his unit. The intentional act of having a male only medpod was selfish only and to me shows Weyland is not a candidate for God.
