OK, one for the Community Discussion forum... Is poor Arnie Scharwzenegger destined to see virtually every movie that made him a blockbuster star for 2 whole decades REMADE while he is still alive? I have to admit that many of his 80's & 90's flicks are like guilty pleasures for me. I could not tell you how many times I have re-watched these over the years.. - Conan the Barbarian - Predator - Terminator 1 & 2 (Hell I will even throw in 3!) - Twins - True Lies But we have now already seen Conan & Total Recall remade. Hell, they even re-created 1984 Arnie completely from CGI for Terminator: Salvation. I cant help but think that each time this happens, it must be like a punch in the ribs to him.

I certainly hope they don't! Predator was a classic; not in the same vein as Alien, but a classic nonetheless. The latest Conan was a big flop. Total Recall should have been left alone. Len Wiseman is at his best doing the Underworld saga. He missed me with Live Free or Die Hard. But, back to Arnold, there are some of his films that just don't warrant a remake, mainly because he put his imprint on it. By the way, I read somewhere that Hollywood wanted to remake 'Commando' with Sam Worthington in the lead role, but the action was going to be more 'realistic'. Whatever that means...lol.

Hey CP, You know Arnie isn't getting any younger. I recall reading somewhere that he had to go in for bypass surgery a few years back. I'm sure he's getting some sort of royalty off his movies from the remakes. I'd also be willing to bet they bring him in as a consultant on some of them. Oh you forgot one good classic film. Commando I love the part where he just rips the seat out of the car and tosses it out. Then later drives the box truck right into the gun store. Anyways done with my rambling. Laters, Rick

@Rick... Oh yeah... His heart issues are well known now. I didnt mean that I think he can still pull off the uber action hero mystique anymore... cuz he cant. That is over. He will be basically relegated to the walk-on cameo kind of appearance now. But it just seems a little sad to me. There was a time where Hollywood at least waited until those involved in an original "classic" had passed on.. at least give them some respect in that way. There was time where people would probably have not even dared to even remotely get on Arnie's bad side. He practically ruled Hollywood. I cannot help but think that a lot of this is his own doing. I mean, having now been found out for diddling that 4 ft. tall Uumpa Lumpa. Good grief. He completely made a laughing stock of himself. Its just too bad we will never see the True Lies sequel as had been planned a decade ago. It may have still worked back then, but even Jamie Lee Curtis has gone gray now and is the spokesperson for that yogurt "that helps ya poop!" Hahahaha!. But he took that detour into politics for awhile. Oh Arnie.... Thanks for those great memories!

Haha - TWINS... The part they film at the supermarket when they meet up with the girls (inside the store, outside the store is a different location) was filmed at the VONS supermarket 3 minutes from my house in San Dimas (yes, good ol Bill & Ted's hometown is my birthplace. I spent about 5 minutes talking to Arnold's stuntman (who you see in the movie as a jail inmate before Danny DeVito comes and sits down to talk to Arnold. I was also standing at the end of the isle the 2 girls walk down putting stuff into their basket as the camera rolls backwards. (from behind the camera) If my EX hadn't thrown out my photo albums I'd have pictures of him to post here with a big cigar in his mouth and eventually getting into a Porsche to drive off.

they practically already remade Predator. Predators is a return to that movie's premise. brody more or less plays dutch, being the big gun weilding bad ass, covering himself with mud, going after the predator with sticks, and doesnt he yell "kill me, im here!" as some point?

as far as I am concerned any Ridley Scott science fiction film is so far removed from ever having to lower itself to have someone like "Arnie" as it's lead that i hope it matters very "teensy".

@ Pvt Hudson From Glendora here, lived for a time across from the police station in SD ( yes, that one ) fished Puddingstone, got my pilots license at Brackett, spent a lot of time there, always loved it, very casual....now who the heck knew it so well as to set Bill and Ted there...I've always wondered....SOMEBODY!.....its too close! Hahaha Anyways, its a shame Arnolds films are gettin remade, just as its a shame he pretty much ruined himself..I say no to seeing any remakes. He is from a time when he was the Man...and I'm gonna go with him...in his time. Too many remakes, de-makes, and reimaginings these days....next thing you'll see is Mr Ed playing the lead in The Prisoner.

I've seen the previews and it looks like excrement to me. Arnie's version is well secured in my collection.

Arnolds heart issues are hereditary, his mother suffered with the same problems. And regards his recent bad press, it doesn't really come as much of a surprise - in the eighties he had a brief thing with Brigette Neilsen while he was courting Maria Shriver in the early eighties, but once he realised what a handful BN was he pawned her off onto his friend, Sylvester Stallone. He was the man in the eighties and early nineties, with Predator (originally titled "Hunter") originally being a vehicle for Arnold to face off against a martial kicking alien hunter, played by JCVD no less, until Stan Winston was brought in at Arnold and John McTeirnans request. IMO is best role is easily 1984's The Terminator, and IMO rather than mess about with half arsed directors they should persuade jim Cameron to finish what he started and do a Terminator 5 & 6, with Arnold providing motion capture for the T-800 and T-850 endoskeleton terminators.
But we have now already seen Conan & Total Recall remade.
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to remake a 22-year old R rated movie (which was cut down from a glorious X rating) and replace it with some stock n' standard PG crap and made to look like Blade Runner, a 30-year old movie.
