MemberOvomorph02/4/2012And one more thing: the PG-13 rating is ONLY for trailer coming and not for the movie...

Aaaaand....how do you know this??? ^^^

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012Releasing it during SuperBowl would be a good way to generate interest in the movie, especially with fans who have never watched the original Alien movies i.e younger people perhaps. As this movie will definitly be number 1 at the box office when it's released, but it needs more people to be aware of it I think. As at the minute the only movie I keep hearing people bang on about is Dark Knight Rises, which will be good but nowhere near Prometheus. In both storyline, acting and visually!
wheresbasky?
MemberOvomorph02/4/2012If the trailer is going to be shown during Superbowl??? being a family friendly show it will be a PG-13, I don't recall Ridley Scott making Kids films,But a 15 rating may not be out of the realms of possibility!! hope it's an 18.
I'm sure I've seen lower rated trailers for 18 movies before, depends where they are airing!! if you're at the cinema watching a 15 movie they will show trailers appropriate to that rated show.well in the UK they do.

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012NineteenHundred, the information was seen with the news - New International Prometheus Trailer Rated by BBFC
So here is the quote: According to the British Board of Film Classification, a new trailer for Prometheus is on the way (trailer "B") and runs for a total of 59 seconds, a bit shorter than the first trailer released online.
The BBFC have rated the trailer to be 12, essentially similar to a PG-13 in North America.
See?The BBFC have rated the TRAILER to be..... if you don`t believe me, go to the News here http://www.prometheus-movie.com/news/106 ^^

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012@Wheresbasky?, you and many people are being in illusion of R and PG-13 speculation...why do you think that it will be a kid like movie , because of the rating? It won`t just have the Saw like scenes, or are you fond of bowels, too much blood etc...The movie will have the great plot, as RS said it will be the main advantage as well as the atmosphere of the movie, and it will be scary by itself...If you think the movies like Saw and others are epic and great....that is not scary that is just a waste. Guys, if u wanna be scared as shit u must see our Soviet Union new movies about the 2nd war, how our goverment was killing their own people, how they just gave the soldiers only a stick, and they should fight with it against the rifles.....Never Mind lol^^ i think RS is making the true masterpiece even with a PG-13 rating it will be scary....And if you were for example 15 years old, would you be happy not to be able to see this movie? As you know may teen are also fond of Prometheus
P.S. i am not 15 years old lol*

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012Sorry, but no Prometheus trailer is coming tomorrow. With the film still a ways off and the first trailer still pretty new it may be probably another 3-6 weeks before we see something new. Besides the fact that a list of studios that bought Super Bowl airtime was released a few days ago and 20th Century Fox was not on that list.
They seem to be taking a very old school approach to this film. Rewatch the original Alien trailer. Very little is shown in regards to the story and the Alien is not even shown in it.
Excited fan that can't wait.

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012yeah, had read that 5 mind ago...it is rly pity, so let`s wait for another announcement of the trailer release. Hope it wil be released not later than in a week or 2....thx for info.

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012@wheresbasky Nice theory about no R rated movies for The Super Bowl. Are you too young to remember the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" how then would you explain that?
By the way, not an attack, just meant as a funny rhetorical question.

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012Offical confirmation of NO ad tomorrow nigth from brandchannel.com:
"The real story of this year's Super Bowl film trailers is all the ones that will not be shown. Trailers for some of the biggest titles of 2012, the ones we would expect to see during the Super Bowl, will be absent, including promos for Brave, Snow White and the Huntsman, Wrath of the Titans, Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, The Amazing Spider-Man, reboot and Men in Black 3."
Sergey Zaslavets
MemberOvomorph02/4/2012thx for information, craigamore. Now i am finally calm and know that i won`t have to wait for the trailer trembling....Bad news, but who knows....

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012I keep hunting, but other than the British ratings confirmation.....there's no info of any kind yet as to when or in what capacity we'll get Trailer B.
Sergey Zaslavets
MemberOvomorph02/4/2012yeah, if it is known, then somebody will definitly release that info...As for me i hope it will be released in a week or 2 as maximum( speed)...crysis power lol

MemberOvomorph02/4/2012We already discussed this in another thread. Fox is a no show along with Warner Bro's and several others. It will be close to 90ish day left befora another trailer. So March. 3 Stooges will be a Fox release and around a 90 days left. This will be followed by a May TV abush of spot realeases. Then its here. So nothing in this short month of Feb. Nothing in April. March and May seem the logical time frame for building momentum foir the June Releases.
Sergey Zaslavets
MemberOvomorph02/4/2012:o....that sounds creepy to me...now i begin to understand what did RS mean when he said: i will scary all the shit from you...yea Ridley....now i am rly scared to wait untill the march...or even the end of march...i think they try to make more anticipation madness.
Ok, maybe that is even better....

MemberOvomorph02/5/2012@ImMrSage
My OP has nothing to do with whatever you were rambling on about!!!!???
I only stated the possible reason for the trailer rating, during superbowl!!! I'm really looking forward to Prometheus and am not hung up on the rating.
No!!! I've got no time for Gorenography, Saw,Hostel.. etc Yaaawn!! Don't get me wrong I'm just as baffled by people saying they won't watch the movie if it's PG13.....
@ cinefan
Alas I'm not too young to remember the "wardrobe malfunction" watched it live with the rest of the world. did think at the time that it was a bit "naughty" but the media storm afterwards was a bit OTT,...we have a saying in the UK "only in America"
how can a country like U.S.A.,which has World renowned places like "Hooters"....(other bars are available),get traumatised by a flash of boob!!!

MemberOvomorph02/5/2012@wheresbasky...the rating is critical..doesn't matter how you try and justify it, something horrible has happened to movies...the sole reason for the PG rating would be money, at the expense of artistic freedom..if you support this idea, you are another cog in the disgusting capitalist money machine, enabling it is as bad as supporting it
capitalism in general brings out to worst in everything, as it foregoes quality for profit at any cost, at any means necessary...it also created unnecessary levels of competition between people causing isolation and breakdowns of community and neighbourliness...
you are very wrong my kind sir...the rating is VERY important
David Fincher is now my top director as he directed a $95 million dollar R rated film...he fights for us
Mr.J
MemberOvomorph02/5/2012Before we judge a book by it's cover, we should see the film first. You can get away with a lot in a PG-13 rating these days. I think focusing and debating on this is nonsense. A lot can change before the film comes out. We have a little under 6 months and there can be many changes done between now and then. Being temperamental about the rating is foolish, especially at this point when the film has yet to be seen by anyone here. Patience young grasshopper, patience. Wax on, Wax off....

Here! Here! I never started this PG-13 debate, I refer to my OP.
If I have caused offence? My appologies to all

MemberOvomorph02/5/2012We all want a trail and thats cool...maybe today, maybe not. but to sit here and demand things, well we know that is not gonna work. We might get lucky and see the trailer tonight during the Super Bowl. i guess people are more demanding now, I am guilty of it but this how films are ruined and the mystery and taken out of it. Photos of the movies are posted everywhere these days, aka Dark Knight. I think keeping Prometheus in the shadows is smart and heck, I want to be surprised in the theater....I am all for the mystery and surprise.
It's all good man....it's all good!

MemberOvomorph02/5/2012wow, whereisbasky, didn`t want to make such a "cruel" argument, but i must say thx caz after your comments more people came here and gave good ideas ;p
And btw, if you are not too young, try to control your emotions, "speak" calm and give your theories, we are not trading at the market, be calm^^

MemberOvomorph02/6/2012"At Comic-Con, Damon Lindelof stated that the film would be keeping as many practical effects as possible."
A friend told me that should end the debate about the movie being not being R-rated. Let's hope he is right.
