Blackout just launched in Australia!
I had it pre-ordered so it was a nice surprise to see it appear on my IOS this morning.
So far the game is excellent. Superb and detailed visuals, very intense and eerie looking. Like the trailers and promo material suggested you play as Amanda Ripley who coordinates the rescue of survivors on the 'Mendel Research Station' whilst trying to block and distract and lure away the xeno.
HEAVILY story-driven which is good.
The game swaps between 'third person' video feeds (like Alien Covenant), first-person video feeds, and a top-down real-time map. Amanda communicates with survivors over a station PA to formulate actions and plans. You can directly interact with individual survivors telling them to hurry up, hide, stop etc.
Its like the End game sequence on Alien Covenant but using Rewire from Alien Isolation.
What stands out: Quality voice acting!
Although the game has sub-titles you need the sound on which is fine, unless you plan to play it on a bus/train or in a waiting room etc....there is lots of hissing and screaming lol

Great to hear!I plan on downloading it tomorrow provided my phone can handle it lol
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

Includes a Yutani executive officer who claims Sevastopol suffered an "accidental explosion during its decommissioning"

I know it's going to be a good game. Can't wait to play it.
Btw there is a pretty positive review of it. Don't know if it has been posted before. Here you go:

These are all great things to hear I Raptus. Thank you for the review and I will definitely play when able.
The gameplay shots are amazing, below.
Thank you Jonesy for the link.

This review confirms what a lot of us were expecting- pretty good. It sounds like they could beef it up for a console release.

People complain this game cost $5?

Its a creepy and eerie game.
Keeps up the intensity of Isolation. and its actually pretty difficult.
As Amanda you are hiding in the vent system logged into a remote terminal.
You have to manipulate the stations systems to help navigate survivors around while keeping the xeno off their tail. You can lock the xeno in a room to slow it down (sometimes) but it will then use the ventilation system to escape which puts YOU directly at risk. It will kill you.
You can close the vent hatch you are hiding in to stop the xeno killing you BUT then you cant use the remote terminal risking losing sight of the xeno who will then go back to trying to kill the survivors.
Very clever and well thought-out dynamics!
The Xeno is aggressive and persistent always on the move. It makes you feel powerless some times

Nice way to account for what happened to Amanda at the end of Isolation.
