Alien 3: Stash it or Canit.....GO!
dk
MemberTrilobiteApr-20-2017 3:26 AMIt has aged well over the years. I think it is really good but got panned because sissies sitting in theatres sobbed on their popcorn too much and walked away sad.

MemberPraetorianApr-20-2017 3:42 AMI'll be fair to it, and say 'Stash'. It has indeed aged well over the years, and is a more Mature film than ALIENS, which is maybe why it got panned in the first place?

MemberTrilobiteApr-20-2017 3:52 AMIt was a tragic film and was probably a bummer to watch in theaters with popcorn and gum drops. I hate to say it in a way, but it was to the series what Empire Strikes Back was to the SW series, which is also the one I grew to like best.

MemberPraetorianApr-20-2017 3:55 AMGood points, yeah. I guess folks went in expecting action/adventure and then walked into Darkness and Tragedy...that'd definitely have led to unfortunate and rather unfair negative reviews.

MemberFacehuggerApr-20-2017 6:39 AMAlien 3 isn't great, but I'd say it's good enough not to get canned.
It will never compare to the first two, but not many films do.

MemberFacehuggerApr-20-2017 6:48 AMFiorina 161 was enough of an interesting concept in itself to stash this movie. I also appreciated how different it was from Aliens, while also managing to continue Ripley's storyline thoroughly.
What's the story, MUTHUR?

MemberFacehuggerApr-20-2017 7:17 AMIts not a bad movie, it hasnt aged poorly over the years, but i do find it a little dull and not that re-watchable as a result. The themes of redemption and sacrifice are cool from a dramatic standpoint.
I actually like it but never do i feel compelled to watch it occasionally like i do with Alien, Aliens and Prometheus. I hate Alien Resurrection but that's a whole other topic.
I feel, as one of you said above that its tonally different that Aliens so many people werent appealed by it. Which could be true....i showed Alien to my teenage nephews and they thought that it was boring, i think younger generations have a short attention span so that movies like Transformers are more appealing to them. They do not understand the need for setting up characters, tension, story telling, the proper tone and logic...they just want explosions and deaths on screen, for many people they dont want to think deeper into a film than that.

MemberDeaconApr-20-2017 7:19 AMI thought it was a interesting movie, it had a few flaws and all but it was not that bad, i think the effects show there Age a bit because the movie is not set in as dark settings but then we have to wonder what limitations Alien Covenant and Prometheus would have if they was released at the same time.
To me while its not as Good as the First Two movies, i still think its a decent movie.
