Time to discuss the latest episode and this one didn't jazz me up as much as Episode 5 did. A few things to note now:

  • Kirsh definitely has ulterior motives as he deceived Boy Kavalier when he asked if everything was alright – while specimens were being let loose.
  • First time a Xenomorph was referred to as an adult male (we've always assumed they were drones, but never have they been actually referred to as male, only the Queen referred to as female. And technically Andy called the supposed drone in Romulus a "bitch")
  • The Fly specimens eat robots and machinery which makes me wonder why they don't use their dissolving acid excrement to break free from the cages.
  • We got a glimpse at a juvenile and adolescent Xenomorph development, which was interesting.
  • Wendy is becoming a Xenomorph activist thinking this one can be tamed lol...I hope that comes back to bite her at some point.

If a Xenomorph can be tamed, I don't think that will sit well with the fanbase 😂

What did you guys think?

Kirsh: Sort of like Al Capone's right hand man, Frank Nitti, sabotaging him.

Male Xenomorph: Always thought they were male with only the queen being female.

The Fly: I think they are just like flies. They cough up something to dissolve their meal and then sip the liquid through a straw like thing on their face. I don't think it's acid like the xenomorph. Are the writers passing this off as their creation?

Juvenile xenomorph: Wasn't there one who the captain shot in Covenant and then he "birthed" one and David was playing with it?

Wendy: Don't like the Wendy character and wish they would get rid of those characters and just focus on everything else now that Earth has been invaded.

I, too, don't think a tamed xenomorph will sit well with the fanbase.

Episode 6 was not as exciting as the previous one but it did open doors (literally) for a lot of bad things to happen in the near future.   Talk about a bad day!  Poor Arthur Sylvia  - first his wife doesn't back him up on the morality of wiping Nib's memory, then he gets fired, then he leaves the fly's door open, and then he gets facehugged.  Can't get much worse.   I do have some questions that I hope to see addressed in the future.  At the arbitration meeting between Prodigy and Weyland -Yutani why didn't  Ms. Yutani raise the issue of the sabotage of the Maginot by Boy?  Did Morrow not tell her about that, or is she saving that issue for another day?  That certainly would have had an impact on the outcome of the arbitration as Boy could no longer play the innocent "victim".    Another issue which probably underlies the whole show is whether or not the Hybrids really are "human" or is this really just a "Total Recall" type memory transfer situation?  Wendy aka Marcy seems to be questioning whether she is really human and maybe pondering if she wants to be human.   It seems Wendy is identifying more with the creatures than with people which calls into question the rationale of the hybrid experiment.     To me the whole point would be to transfer whatever it is that makes you uniquely you into a better body.   I guess I'm talking about the transferring soul and not just the mind, but maybe they only can transfer the memories.  Would you really want to live forever as something other than human?  It seems to me that this whole Prodigy project is going south fast and I believe the cover story is going to be that the hybrids went crazy and killed everyone and that will be the end of Prodigy.

Showing ones feet to a Japanese person is disrespectful and insulting. That is why the boy genius did it with such pleasure on his face. No, I am not Japanese and if I am wrong, please correct me. Wendy, suddenly isn't Wendy? Now, she's Marcy? Hope they rid the series of all of them for season 2. They were a seque and now on to season 2 and hopefully better episodes.

Episode 6: The Fart

As if the series' couldn't get any worse it digs itself through rock bottom. Wendy (who has one more expression than a bird nesting box) worrying about the xenos and their emotions (when she mentions how they'd "feel" being captured as if it was ever important in the franchise) is about as shockingly stupid as it could possibly get. This show doesn't do the franchise any favors except spitting acid in its face just like Disney did with Star Wars. The most terrifying space monster in cinema history is reduced to a confused gender affirmed animal we're supposed to feel sympathy for.

Two episodes left, I don't know if I can do this anymore.

Looking forward to Aliens Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition so I can wash away the puke taste in my mouth. I might do a review of in in the games forum.

I hope Kirsh assumed the Xeno was a male based on the creature's phallus-shaped head. I was wondering what was going to happen with Nibs since she was clearly traumatised from what she saw in the USCSS Maginot wreckage, thinking she might eventually snap. But they erased her memory, and it's all goodie now. The flying insects look cool tho. The eyeball thing, Ocellus is plotting something. Hopefully, all the creatures break containment and wreak havoc.

Agree with neomorph. When they show Wendy/Marcy making clicking sounds at the "baby alien", close up and endlessly, I want to throw something at my TV. It's long, drawn out, and boring. I hope the monsters put all of them out of their misery, except the boy genius and Kirsh. Then start over in season 2 with the monsters trying to take over earth.

I wanted to love this series so much, but i'm honestly just not super excited about it anymore. It's ok but it's nothing special, imo. I'll finish the series and fully judge then, Fargo and Legion were 10x better than this series.

I like Kirsh and Morrow, but Kirsh is turning out to be a villain and that's been done to perfection by Fassbender and to a certain extent Hauer, it feels a bit tired going down that route again. A synth that has disdain for humanity just doesn't work for me, they're machines at the end of the day. The reason Aliens, Romulus, Isolation and other media in the franchise is so loved is because the Synths in those stories were so lovable, and pure of heart.
