Help figuring out name of obscure alien movie or tv series

Saw this movie or series in early 2000 and haven't been able to place it since.  The plot is vaguely that a human-like alien species has subjugated earth's citizens through mind control.  I remember something about the mind control being emitted from a large tv screen on the side of one of the downtown buildings.  Also, the plot mentions that a large disc atop one of the downtown buildings, long believed to be just interesting architecture, was actually their ship which landed many years ago.  Please help - I've looked everywhere for any mention of this!

No clue.  It was a pretty low budget show, from what I remember, but there did seem to be lots of extras involved.  I'm almost certain it was a series, although I could be wrong.  It had a similar plot/feel to Earth: Final Conflict.

I love they live too lol! Also, dark skies is a good guess. Can’t tell you much beyond the details I have already described, but I vaguely remember the humanoid leaders being dressed in some kind of silver-ish outfit. Also, it seem to be set in the present day or near future. Another detail is that I do remember the humans were being relocated at one point via open air transports, seating around a dozen people. I think they were being reassigned to different areas based on their skills, etc.

Thanks for your reply! As previously mentioned, it does bear similarities to earth: final conflict, but I don’t think that’s it. The large mind control screen on the buildings and the alien ship atop one of the buildings doesn’t seem to align with the earth: final conflict plot.

I remember a movie that came out in the early 2000's where these people would get infected by tiny little aliens from these black rocks, Luke Perry was the main antagonist.

Oh wait nevermind, Invasion (1997) doesn't fit your description since the aliens release a viral infection to evolve the humans into hivemind aliens and not good old fashion mind control
