So after the release of the "Take me home, country roads" trailer featuring the John Denver song they have really stepped up the quality of this film, and I hope the song features in the actual movie. A good well known song that emotes to the film can make such a difference to how the viewer perceives and remembers the film. It adds another dimension and layer to the experience.

Think of Guns n' Roses "you could be mine" in T2, or Little Richards "Long tall sally" in Predator as excellent Sci-fi examples. Classic memorable films that portrayed the era of those films.

The perspective "Take me home" gives to the film is a feeling of melancholy, nostalgia (wheat fields) and homesickness. It is also builds on Ridley Scotts Truckers-in-space feel he was trying to portray in the original Alien, with the country vibe of the song.

What other songs do you all think would suit this film, and would like see featured in the movie???

Here are my top 4. I've tried to stick with classic bluesy/country/rock song.

1. If I ever leave this world alive - Flogging Molly (how fitting)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVPTu4l6OnE

2. Walk all over you - AC/DC ( Aussie Rock m/ )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzVxcolvAlM

3. Rock n Roll - Led Zeppelin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwFqRB2FQu4

4. Electric Worry - Clutch

Some of the remix FF albums have not aged well....really bad 90s techno, but all their official albums are great.

Wisconsin Death Trip is another all-time classic!! R.I.P Wayne Static :(

I find this forum quite distracting also, but usefully so...

While here, I write a bit, then when the brain needs a cool-down, I interact here. Then I edit for a while until the brain needs a cool-down, and again engage in the forum fun. :)

DK - He over-dosed? How terrible. I hope his soul is allowed to continue inspiring other musicians. :)

I put up a Prong link. I remember Wayne citing Prong as a strong influence for his music. Sad. Similar situation for Dave Brockie of GWAR- that hurt!

MemberTrilobiteApr-07-2017 12:43 AM

DK - GWAR were such wonderful performers! :)
