I was scrolling through the internet the other day and came across several lists that ranked the Alien franchise from best to worst. It had occurred to that these lists always come from casual fans, and that true fans seldomly get to share there opinion. So guys this is your chance rank the films according to how much you like them. The AVP's and Prometheus included. The Predator franchise is OPTIONAL,NOT REQUIRED.This is neutral territory, all opinions are welcome.

The original MORB still scares me!

EDIT: I think AC will scare me, at least I'm hoping so!

Lone.Excellent taste in movies.Blade Runner basically ties with Aliens for me,And i hold 2001 in very high regards.                           BigDave:If you'd like to edit your ranking to not includ the AVP'S,you may.I should have stated that those are optional. Also congratulations on shutting Requiem off before it could end lol.  Tiago:I got to be honest, the Predator is the one thing i like about the movie. It's a shame he got stuck in this one.

Just Alien movies- Alien number 1 just by a hair, #2 Aliens(I like the special edition better than the theatrical cut but would still be number 2), #3 Alien 3, #4 AVP, #5 Resurrection (don't like it) and never saw Requiem and will never see it so obviously last. Adding the Predator movies, #1 Alien, #2 Aliens, #3 Alien 3, #4 Predator, #5 Predators, #6 AVP, #7 Resurrection, #8 Predator 2 and obviously the terd I never saw last.

Thank you Dr. Curt Connors!I agree on Aliens special edition. The very first time i saw it i was 12 years old and had already loved the movie for years.Ever since i watched the special edition i haven't watched the theatrical version once!

@ninXeno426  Yeah I don't think I will watch the theatrical cut of Aliens ever again either. Yeah I like Predators and I just saw I forgot Prometheus. Put Prometheus where Resurrection is on the Alien list and then with Predator movies included put it where Resurrection is also and slide the other two back a spot.

Dr. Curt Connors

MemberChestbursterFeb-08-2017 4:26 PM

So Prometheus would be number 5 and 7 respectively.

I posted the same rankings on another forum so it may look familiar...If I had to rank them (Sans AVP & Prometheus, which I both enjoy cuz' I'm diehard fan), it would be:

1. Alien - Yessir! This is how you make a horror movie with a  Sci-Fi flavor.

2. Aliens - Macho action-packed film with well-fleshed out characters. A good formula for success.

3. Alien 3- Well done, I just think the premise was limited being confined to the Prison. Chance to do so much more..

4. Alien 4(Resurrection) Good until they introduced that stupid muppet-looking, human-alien hybrid thing. This is the only time I ever got irritated with the series.

The AVP series is not as great but i still like them. Prometheus is also an underappreciated film that just didn't hit it's potential. I anxiously await AC to make up for those deficiencies.

As far as Alien and Aliens, I an old enough to remember standing in line for hours waiting for a ticket. The people coming out of the movie were just blown away...almost in the way Star Wars did folks back in the 70's..My personal feeling is that think people have forgotten just how good the first two movies really were....

If we include Prometheus, it comes in slightly after Aliens 3...

No matter how you slice it, Alien is and always be numero uno for me..

MemberChestbursterFeb-08-2017 4:38 PM

@ninXeno426  You're welcome, forgot to say that earlier.   @suwhited   Yeah I think Alien will always be the best of them.

Aliens

Alien

Prometheus

Predator

Alien 3

Alien Resurrection

AVP

AVPR

aliens deserves first place, it was an incredible comeback to Ridley Scott's Alien, with more action and even the favored xenomorph queen.

MemberPraetorianFeb-08-2017 5:16 PM

Thank you guys.Connors i almost didn't notice Prometheus on your list lol. Also great to see Aliens get some more love!

@ninXeno426   Yeah I had forgot Prometheus. And Aliens is so close to Alien. They're both so good and I know Aliens is your favorite movie of all time if I remember correctly from reading on here. When I say a hair separates Alien and Aliens it really is the truth and you're welcome.

ninXeno426

MemberPraetorianFeb-08-2017 6:09 PM

That's very true.I think i'd say the same about Alien.

About Requiem, your definitely not missing anything lol.It can be good for a laugh but that's about it.There's a certain irony to watching it,i watched it about a month ago and had a good time ripping on it.It's pretty stupid lol.If you scroll through this list you'll see it has pretty much no fans.

MemberChestbursterFeb-08-2017 6:45 PM

@ninXeno426  Yeah I noticed that, haha. Yeah my brother had told me when it had come out how horrible it was. I've never been able to get myself to watch it, maybe one day like you said I will watch it just to have a good laugh.

ninXeno426

MemberPraetorianFeb-08-2017 6:56 PM

I skipped it in theaters because i didn't like the first one that much. When you know it's bad then you can certainly have fun with it because there are zero expectations of quality. If you've seen Resident Evil Apocalypse, then you'll know what to expect. The plot is almost the same, they just replaced zombies and the Nemesis with Aliens and predator.

@ninXeno426  Never watched any of the Resident Evil movies but the first one, those never appealed to me. But yeah you can just tell a movie is gonna be bad sometimes, haha. I hear ya there.

They unfortunately share some of the same "talent."The guy who did the first AVP wrote and directed most of those movies.
