PROMETHEUS 2 INTERVIEWS RIDLEY AND RAPACE

If Ridley does not want to play up the God angle (which is fine with me) then I agree that he can easily just not call them gods and have them (the Engineers) or their creaators be beings who no how to manipulate DNA and create life. I also agree that there are plenty of ways for Ridley to go and how to go about it and it could indeed (hopefully) be very epic. 

It is a little saddening to hear that he does not really intend to do anything with the deacon at all. I undestand, but my suggestion would to just show another post credits or just after the fact scene of the deacon doing sometinhg on lv223.

Now I am really excited about the next movie thinkning about meeting any type of God or creature higher than the egnineers. Hell, even a different ethnicity of engineer or whatever may be in store for Shaw and David in Paradise. It is hard to imagine something greater than humans' imagination. That is the level that Ridley would want (I assume) or maybe just the level I want. He wants a new monster, but not anything like the Xeno or what has been seen too often. So there is going to be an absolutely amazing creature wiating for them there...

when David and shaw get the ship to leave do they even have to go into a dome? Ships are off somewhere else. 

I think  the engineers have to be in it, at first fitting the parts of god but realising they are anything but. Maybe the god is the god particle, just floating somewhere, and somethings trying to attack it. I also have a belief that the eggs in alien 1 are the last ones after David and shaw are on a mission to rid the galaxy of the goos affiliates. 

What at about that  alien in the mural that is holding the egg, looks to be he's just ate the content of the egg. Engineers  maybe have no choice but to release there goo creations  in warfare, or could indeed be another race trying to stop them infectiing god.  Possibilites are endless 

Prometheus could be shaw,David and an engineer on one last mission to go back and destroy LV with the goo and the deacon on,  David is killed in the process,after doing so they intend to go back to paradise or earth but the ship crash landed as the engineer had been exposed

to the goo, he turns to evil instinct and is just about to get out of the chair to try to kill shaw ( she is in hypersleep) a face hugger  comes out of nowhere  and latches on, shaw is left in hypersleep therefore after.

I don't know if this is very reliable, however:

Scott was asked what the creature looked like and its nature, and the director replied that the composition is very close to the 1979 Alien creature.

@shambs, I think they are misquoting there.  Here is what was written in the original article from The Australian...

what exactly does he mean by third act ?

the 3rd installment of prometheus or the 3rd part of the movie ??

Based on how he formed the statement, I'm fairly certain he means the third act of the movie, 'Prometheus 2' (not the third act, ie, 3rd movie in a trilogy).  Otherwise, Ridley Scott doesn't understand proper sentence structure... or he could have been drinking. :-)

so then we can be fairly sure that the new and fresh alien will not be on earth and that it is somewhere on a different planet and shaw and david will probably encounter it.

if not

then i assume that at the very least it must be on lv 223.

that could mean a mission from weyland to lv 223 .

or else

will everyone just die like they did in prometheus and the whole franchise ??

Msybe when David and shaw suit up they can get access to all of the engineers data, like video feedback like the see in the pyramid.

Watching alien again and seeing the random hole that leads to the egg chambers, I get the feeling the fossilized Engineer didn't know what was in the cargo and went to check it out. Also I noticed the woman said " Wheres the rest of the crew insinuating that there were more than one, so some shit went down.  Could be that they've been stitched up

This shows how we cant take anything we here on the internet as Gospel, because the previous interview posts seem just a edit of what Ridley said in that latest one, basically there must have been a Interview and then different sites are posting quotes from that Interview in a Edited fashion so we just cant be sure what really was said in the Original Interview.

My Point being look what path both these lead us down yet they apear to be based off the same Interview.

So until we see the full Interview we just can not be sure what Ridley means as the first Edited one seems to imply the THIRD ACT...

As in he felt the Creature from the 3rd Act in Prometheus was too close to the Alien... Which leads us down the path that what he meant by Fresh is something that is unlike the Deacon, and the Alien.

But the 2nd Edited Interview seems to hint the 3rd Act as in by the time we see the 3rd Act we shall be shown something a bit fresh and new..... yet also hints it would be like the Original Gigers Alien... so how fresh really is that..

Does 3rd act mean 3 part of the 2nd movie...? Does it mean there will be 3 Parts to Prometheus Franchise or that Prometheus + Paradise + Alien are the 3 movies thus 3rd act is Paradise.

We just cant be sure....

Now if i take the 2nd Interview as the Real One..

Then the Gods and Dragons Remark is a tongue in cheek comment..

Her refers to the Dragon as the Xenomorph, he wants something fresh and modern and that there will be a NEW MONSTER.... but this new Monster would be close to the Original one.

How this will happen.... well i think we can pretty much be sure of the Plot and that it shall have nothing to do with the Horrors of LV 223, because Ridley said when he finished Promethues the movie led us down two paths, one would branch off to Alien and the other something new...

He also said they want to go where Shaw wants to go and thats Paradise, this is NEW we have never covered where the Engineers come from before...

What does he mean by Branch off to Alien as far as other path of Prometheus? I dont think he means that the events of LV 223 in 2093 lead to the Xeno, because well the Derelict was there for a long time by the events of Alien and Ridley even said the Space Jockey met his fate a few hundred years within the same period the majority of Engineers met theirs on LV 223 so thats the Derelict has been on LV 426  between 200 BC or 200 AD and thus some 1900-2300 years if what Ridley hinted is correct.

Nope by Alien i think he means the similarities.

ALIEN----------------------PROMETHEUS

Derelict -------------- Juggernaughts (same use/purpose)

Alien Eggs ---------- Engineer Urns (something found/engineered as Bio Weapons)

Space Jockey ------- Engineer Race (they are related)

Alien --------- Deacon (genetically related)

So what he means is that the events we saw on LV 223, in that these Engineers conducted experiements and created something that genetically passes on traits and mutates DNA is somehow related to the Xeno in Alien, these Engineers and their Space Suits and Ships are related to the Space Jockey and Derelict and the Cargos they carry are used as some kind of Bio Weapon and somehow they are GENETICALLY RELATED.

The last part, we may never be shown how and why they are connected but maybe something on Paradise or the Cargo and its effects when David unleashes it on Paradise will some how fill more gaps for us.

SO HOW CAN WE GET SOMETHING FRESH AND NEW...

And yet get away from the Alien and its Life Cycle that has been done and dusted? Unless Ridley wants to explore maybe the way he wanted the Xeno to evolve i.e Egg Morph?

I am just not sure how he can get away from the Dragons, if his new Monster is to resemble the Original one...

And there can only be a few ways this can happen....

1) Paradise is a place that maybe the beginings of the Xeno, and Engineer Bio-Tech Evolved from and thus these Engineers may have a new Monster related to the Xeno, or one is created by David and Shaws un-invited visit to Paradise...

2) This new Monster is going to be something created by David and the Cargo of the Ship they are going to Paradise on, Ridley did say David is bringing Hell with him and that indeed what happens if you infect God or a Machine with the stuff in the Urns.

So i would say it would be via a event set off by Davids actions that we shall see a new Monster, that Ridley wants to be different to the Deacon as he felt the Deacon was too Alien, yet this new Monster is to be a fresh and more modern take on the Original Alien!

And if thats the case, well the Cargo David is bringing with him has to be related to  those on LV 223 that brought about the Deacon....

This is the design that Ridley liked and wanted Giger to produce something based off to make his Alien which was this... below.

While these look slightly different to our Xeno from Alien, they are just as related to the Alien as the Aliens onwards ones,  and for something fresh and different even something based of the above would be too close to the Deacon, in fact the Deacon is far more fresh look to the Xeno than the ones in the Alien Franchise and the above images.

The Deacon at the end is thus futher step away from the Dragon than those images are.

Here is the Final Designs that are based of the above but are what the Alien was more closely based on...

And this design is by far too connected to the Alien and Aliens movies monsters that have been done over and over...

So what can he do based on these that appears fresh?

Carlos Huante did work on the Money Shot, creature for Prometheus early draft by Spaights...  the ULTRAMORPH!

The concept work he did for such a Monster are below..

As you can see the First 2 are the same design and very very similar to Gigers Necronomicon design that Ridley wanted to incorpriate into his Alien design.

The Last Image is kind of a variant design based off the Necronomicon Design a Fresher design?

Could Ridley want to explore such a design for Part 2?

The idea for the above was for Spaights draft of a 15ft + Fully Grown Chest Buster that comes from the Engineer at the end of the movie....

Ridley is maybe hinting what happens if the Goo infects God...

We see the Deacon was Chest Busted from the Last Engineer but its design is a off spring from somekind of Hybrid Chest Buster that had a lot of Human DNA as opposed to the Xeno Pure Face Huger...

ridley gets his chance to investigate the sj and their civilisation and we just get another alien movie ??

Why bother with any kind of creature other than the engineers??

P2 must at least show something of their culture.

Oduodu- you gotta keep in mind that deciphering a Ridley interview is sometimes pointless. He misdirects, he indulges in hubris, he says whatever he wants. The 'gods and dragons' line could mean anything, or nothing. It could just be a statement of his personal stance. It could be a condemnation of another movie altogether. 

I highly doubt P2 will do away with Engineers or Morb biology. But I don't doubt for a second that he will want to turn it all on its ear again and provide us with another surprise. Isn't that something to look forward to?

i just hope we see more of the society that created or formed the engineers.

i really want to know what their grand plan is or what makes them tick.

as to what the new alien is: 

hopefully a cthulian type creature that we hope will show a glimpse to the intelligence that is behind it all.

I understand your concerns....

But here is the problem they face and its the same one that i had when i was working on a Draft for Prometheus Part 2, my draft i had great ideas about what becomes of Weyland Company, what becomes of a Rescue mission to LV 223 and the Deacon etc..

But i got stuck on the part of what do Shaw and David find on Paradise...

THE PROBLEM BEING....

Once they went the route these guys created us and are in essence who Ancient Man worshiped as Gods and who all Religons then bassed off (Ancient Astronaught Theory) what they did was open up a massive scope for the Franchise but one whos Scope may have been too big a task to take on...

Particularly in regards to Shaws Questions...

WHY was we created?

WHY  did they want us destroyed?

WHY they never came back to LV 223 or Earth?

So what they find could potentially cause problems, you see if they find a Engineer Culture that is vibrant and going strong or even one that is weakened, if these Engineers who who ever on Paradise wanted us destroyed and thought we was, well that would change no soon as Shaw and David set down on Paradise.

If they was not aware of our creation, surely they would do so then and it would depend on how they would favour our creation...  would they want to visit us, would they want to visit LV 223 to find out what the other Engineers was upto.

Do they know what the Juggernaught is for and what Cargo it has, as surely if they did or if they did not but now do, they would not want us to get our hands on LV 223 and its secrets and at the very least would want that place destroyed.

There really is so much to cover....

That the only logical route is that there is either.

1) Nothing much left of the Engineers culture and World.

2) That the Beings on Paradise did not know we was created.

3) The journey to Paradise takes so long that are return trip would never get back to Earth by the events of Alien Franchise including Resurection.

I think this is the problem they face and they may now be looking at a Lazy way out, and i would think the easiest way out is 2)... that a group of Engineers had left Paradise with the secrets of creation and gone off doing there own thing.

This way we can be introduced to Engineers or there creators who have no knowledge of our creation and LV 223 and thus they do not have to cover the whole Gods and Dragons Etc.

NOW TAKE THIS WITH PINCH OF SALT...

Few months back well about Summer, i spoke to someone who claimed he knew someone who had been asked to work with the concept team for work on Paradise.

And he said that this person was asked with 2 others to come up with some concept work all bassed on same thing, maybe studio then pick what they like.

They said the concept work they was working on was a World more like LV 426 or LV 223 but dark place,  and that the World was covered in HR Giger Style Buildings, Factories and Rock Formations with the idea being that they are all moulded together so you cant tell what is Machine, Building or Geographic.

And that one concept work revolved around a huge open room with a Bieng in the centre that is attached to the building/machine and inside was chambers that was incubating beings inside and said it was kind of like the Matrix with a touch of HR Giger.  And it is where the Engineers are cloned from the DNA of this being attached to the entire complex.

The person said that there is no concept work based on the events of LV 223 and the Deacon or anything Xeno, the movie is not going that route the entire events of Prometheus will remain like the Space Jockey in Alien a MYSTERY.

Now i dont really think i can accept that this person was telling the truth at all, as i have heard the so could i heard this and that about Prometheus and one person gave me on good authority that the creature at the end of Prometheus was a giant Queen Sized organism that was similar to the Xeno but different and it had Tentacles and it implanted Embryos directly into Hosts, that would produce a new kind of Xeno that is more Human Looking....

Off course well the 2 months latter when Prometheus came out.... well the result was nothing like this at all..

I will say in the case of the newest rumours/made up gossip.. is that its a idea that actually pretty much very very similar to what i was going for in my idea, in that somekind of Machine actually produces the Engineers....

Ridley said that he did not want to meet God in the first movie, thus rules out Engineers, and that God is not God in the traditional sence but something very dark...

He then pondered what happens if David exposes the Goo to God or a Machine..

So who knows....

Maybe the person who told me that has just taken into account those comments by Ridley and looked at some of Gigers work that does not include or relate to the Xeno,  and come to the conclusion of a being and a machine being one... as a lot of Gigers work goes that route and most of it either depicts a Female, or Devil in that role.

Also Gigers idea behind the Derelict was that the ship produced the Eggs itself.
