digging in Janek question again, are you robot?, and calculating the age of 103 years old when Weyland landed on the planet LV-223, Meredith should be around 35 years old, so I guess he had a daughter at 60, too old, another point she was the first awakening of cryosleep for herself, this is very curious, and gives rise to speculation. What do you think?

This is one of those kind of Ambiguous things but i think its a red herring... I would say that Vickers was Human, but there are a number of hints that could prove otherwise.. Yes Age wise, but then a Man can father a child past 60 years old. Vickers did not seem to be made sick from the Hypersleep. She also was able to man handle David. And Ridley hinted there may be more than one Android in the movie. I would side with her being not a Android though.

I don't think there was another android. However, I do really think some of them were clones, Vickers in particular...Hear me out for a sec... I think there were clones on board and Janek, Ravel, and Chance were the only real people.... While many minds were being manipulated. A huge show Weyland had to pull off by giving them all edited memories. I have many suspicions that some of the crew were genetic clones who had to be programmed/conditioned psychologically through the subconsciousness. David taking the cross away is almost like a cruel experiment he could be playing on her mind. It would be worse than Bladerunner, some of these characters would have real but altered memories implanted from past versions of themselves who are already dead. There's a lot of reasons that I think Vickers was a clone, and also that a lot of the death and rebirth themes, and symbols in the movie, will eventually tie into many parts of the whole series, and even actually make Alien Resurrection better by the end of it. The whole thing about Call being the only android that's free and carrying a cross could be played around with. Do you remember how in Alien Resurrection Ripley can't remember everything, she didn't have all her memories, and they had to train her? What she did remember after they cloned her was Newt and the nightmares of the alien, and these memories seemed to come through the subconsciousness. Ripley almost had a telepathic link to the alien in that movie, she "could feel it moving behind her eyes". Weyland said David was the closest thing he would ever have to a real son, maybe it's not just the way he looks at Vickers, and he could never conceive children, just like Shaw... So he cloned one from a donor and adopted her, made her be his daughter by controlling her memories/subconsciousness by planting and transferring the memories, editing/altering them. Weyland would be Shaw's father too... and "don't we all want to see our parents dead?" is something from Freudian psychology. Ripley 8 never had a direct transfer of her consciousness into the clone body, only things from the subconscious came into the clone. Vickers figured out long ago she is not real, in a different way than David. A Vickers could return, but she wouldn't be an android, and her character would behave in slightly different ways. There's already a precedent for clones in the universe, but maybe Ripley 8 couldn't have memories uploaded back into her. It could lead to things like why Weyland could speak to David from Hypersleep. Maybe Weyland's mind is sort of recorded/on backup, and he was already near immortal, able to control the dreamstate.

Well Ridley had been Ambigious with some stuff he was saying, and indeed he did kind of want to link Prometheus to Blade Runner. This made me think before seeing the movie when it came out, that maybe David would use the Goo to change himself into more Organic i.e like the Replicants? Or maybe as you said, that some of the crew could have been Replicants and they would not even be aware of it just as some cuts of Blade Runner hint that Rick Deckard could be a Replicant but be unaware. But when i heard Ridley say there could be more than one Android.... I think he may have implied the Engineers connection to David. In that David was created by Weyland to look Human and they was created for a specific purpose. Thus the Elders created the Engineers as Biological Androids so more like Replicants where they was created to perform tasks for the Elders Agenda... These would include Sacrifice and also to undertake other duties that would be too risky and dangerous for the Elders... i.e The Engineers are Expendable. So i think Ridley is hinting at a connection between David and the Engineers, but thats just my opinion and i could be wrong.

Heh an old one - here is your answer from an email sent from lindelof himself: Damon Lindelof To: Josh Horowitz Sent June 10, 2012, 7:26 p.m. "J,Thanks for going a second time, but it is clear those cute zoo animals have soundly defeated us. Maybe the next time I try to convince Noomi Rapace to wear a rainbow-colored afro wig, she'll listen to me.Vickers. Yes, she does look like David. Yes, this was intentional. What better way to piss off your daughter than to build the male equivalent of her? But enough about daddy issues (seriously, Lindelof, we get it!), allow me to answer your question. Is she a robot? She is not.But did Vickers somehow survive being smushed by the gigantic rolling horseshoe that was the derelict ship? Could her scantily-clad push-up training have saved her in that final moment of crushitude? And more importantly, WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST RUN ZIG-ZAGGY OR SIDEWAYS TO AVOID IT?!?I don't have the answers to these questions, Josh. I'm just the writer." Pretty conclusive!

David is the only Android imo and when Vickers shoved him like she did. Besides it isnt hard to do because he doesnt physically fight back. He is dangerous when it becomes apparent that Weyland is using him for his own agenda. Weyland made David to do his every whim and command. Even the Holloway scene where he gets infected via alcohol by David. Peter Weyland told him to go after the "expendable" one Dr. Holloway.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

How do we know Weyland told David to do that?

With regards to David being pushed by Vickers... Well it does not matter how Strong You are but what weight. You could have a 200 lb man who is 50% less stronger than a same weight man (i.e a Boxer or US Football player) if the person does not expect being pushed up a wall then their Strength is not a factor only their weight. So if David weighs only about the same as a Holloway etc or not much more then he would be as easy to push as Holloway etc unless he knew he was going to be pushed in which case he would then be able to restrain against it and thus his greater strength would be a factor.

@Visionary, We know David is paraphrasing when he says he was told to "Try harder." We come in on the tail end of a conversation between them. Flash to David infecting Holloway. David may have found some wiggle room, but while his master was still alive he was bound to obey. I believe he even sought a type of permission from Holloway in order to justify harming him. And no, Vickers is not a robot, for the 10,000th time. She drinks booze, is in cryo sleep, presumably bangs Janek, is scared to die (unlike David), also the line where she states "I will fin the wire that makes you run and i will cut it" shows some contempt for AI. Ps- got my Prometheus Deck Stool!! I'll try and post pics, but i only have my phone to use. God bless this site!!

Vickers is not an android, David was built to look like her though as was explained in Damon Lindelof's letter to Josh Horowitz. Also, in "The furious Gods-Making of Prometheus" documentary Ridley says he wanted the Android to be out in the open and not a surprise like in 'Alien'. So yes David is the only android in the movie. Here is a link to the full documentary for those that want to watch, it's great: 'The Furious Gods: Making of Prometheus' full documentary As for how Vickers was able to push David, he doesn't weight that much. If you look in the old Weyland files from the website they released to accompany the movie you will see facts about the David models, he only weighs something like 120 lbs.

I assumed he was given orders by Weyland in cryo-sleep. Yep you're right by the time it takes him from speaking to Weyland and encountering Vickers and then going on to examine the urns. Then seeing him walking into a lab and taking out the black goo after snapping off the glass-like vessel. I just dont know when he "decided" to go to Dr. Holloway and use the black goo on him via the bubbley.

@Anunaki50 hey I just joined the community and wanted to join in the conversation about the black goo. Well first off I am disapointed with the entire thing. The monster Dr. Holloway
transforms into is some of the worst stuff I have seen in movies.

I wish the producers could have had more creativity here and shown us something really special.
When David starts examining the black goo it is like they were filming it for 5 year olds to watch. David has nano sensor arrays on his finger tips and can sample molecules from the composit nano materials hes made from. We see some interesting visuals in the first part of the film at the molecular level. Seems to me the entire sceen with David was waisted and could have been a much more important part of the film. I really wanted Dr. Holloways' Character to make it to the end of the movie too.

I do not think David got the order from Weyland because what happened to Dr. Holloway could have got loose on the ship and killed everyone. This is another extreemely large plot hole that the producers said ok we need something dramatic to happen here with out really thinking it all out.

Ello redant - probably Anunaki50 is one of the biggest fans of the film hes probably not the best guy to attack the film with :P I on the other hand am not a big fan I am more dissapointed although I still love parts of it.

You should probably try to stay on topic more too - anyway even though I am not a fan boy I do have to say first off there were actually plans to have more shots like david being able to see an invisible spectrum of light which gave him access to the engineers control panels. And he also had specail analytical tools in his eyes which was why he could see much more than us humans but I tihnk the budget cut saw to this being taken out which was a shame but maybe not the worst thing that happend!

I am pretty sure the idea was that Weyland was very desperate - few days left to live so david had to do anything to try to get results - that part is sound I reckon. Though if you watch the scene were david puts the black goo into the glass - its right infront of holloways face! And holloway said nothing! Like oi why did you just plop your finger into my glass lol.

And yes theres allot of things that seemed muddled and rushed - was it the cut in budget reduction in rating which was implemented via fox with Lindelof to blame or ridley getting old and rushing things as he has so many projects on etc. etc. who knows...although Alien had a much lower budget less cinemas and less people on the planet and had no reputation from a previous film and still sold more tickets! But yer I know its hard to compair exactly...

Thats what I totally forgot about the movie that David had nano sensors and he could examine it more under the microscope of his special android abilities that we humans don't have. They should've shown the goo at a DNA level to see what it is but Ridley maybe wanted it to remain a mystery.

I think I should blame FOX they are owned by right-wing nut bags and rich CEOs, all they care about is money and power.
