MemberDeaconNov-01-2013 7:28 AMWell we can not take IMDB as Gospel as far as Fact.
And also just because Danny Webb is maybe cast for Paradise does not mean he has to play the same Character Morse... You see if you take the Star Trek Franchise they have had actors cast to play number of characters and different races.
Danny Webb could be playing a role of a Engineer or Elder, it does not have to be Morse...
Even if Morse we find out is a new type of Android that fools humans to thinking they are human. Well they do not posses that Tech at the time of Prometheus...
Maybe he could play a relative to Morse, like Grandfather etc?
Only other way would be that the Paradise timeline and Alien 3 match, i.e Paradise occurs after Alien 3, this could be the case but if so and if David and Shaw interact with Morse it would have to be on there way back from Paradise?
If Morse is to be connected in a side plot i.e not interact with Shaw then it has to be with the Company but again this would have to be in the future after Alien 3?
If any sequel is to feature the company i would like it to be set before and also show the Merger of Yutani and Weyland and i cant see how Morse would fit into this....
So i am going to go for if the case is Danny Webb is cast he will not play Morse from Alien 3

MemberOvomorphNov-01-2013 10:35 PMI find this unlikely. Hasn't Ridley Scott already said he considers only Alien and Aliens as part of the canon?
Necronom 4
MemberNeomorphNov-02-2013 6:19 AMSlightly off topic. I've heard a few members say that Ridley only considers ALIEN and ALIENS has cannon? I've never heard him say that. Where does he say it? Was it on a documentary or an article? Can somebody find the link to it and post it?
The poster was good though!

MemberDeaconNov-02-2013 8:22 AMAs far as i am Aware Ridley considers the whole franchise as Canon...
I think he was only disappointed with the plot for Alien Resurrection.
But then some ideas from that movie have made it into Prometheus... i.e Xeno/Human DNA Hybrids etc.

MemberOvomorphNov-03-2013 12:57 AMYeah Ressurection isnt my one of my favs either its kinda terrible compared to the other three.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberOvomorphNov-03-2013 3:36 AMI say you can forget Alien 3. Alien is just one "event happening in a corner of the universe", just a story of what happens to Ripley, etc. Prometheus and Paradise are part of a new, original story that is far far bigger in scope and importance.

MemberOvomorphNov-04-2013 11:38 PMAbsolutely! I completely agree.
Prometheus has introduced huge concepts into this franchise. We are way beyond xeno chases now!
That being said, the Alien films- ALL 3 OF THEM- are still a blast to watch. Since Prometheus came out, i have watched (and forced upon friends) all *3* of them several more times.
Agreed they are seeminly miniscule events now, (besides our beloved Jockey in the original, of course) but simply in terms of what i can include in my mind as being an acceptable entry- Alien 3 squeezes in, while It That Shall Not Be Named does not.
I would really love to see a fanedit of Alien3 with all of the CG shots removed. I saw the Special Extended Cut again and man, the first half is awesome, practical effects are sick!
then the CG Xeno makes an appearance.
