I'd like to think that the writers knew something about Greek mythology, rather than having stumbled across the name of one moon in many – that just happens to be named after a deity sharing similar intentions to those of Peter Weyland.

They were the last ones to even know about our Solar System, and all they knew were 7 planets: Earth, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Neptune instead of 9 like what we and the Sumerians know of like Pluto and Uranus. Plus the controversial 10th planet that I and Sitchin agree on. This is all just my opinion though. :)
