year 3,000 - an Engineer lands on Earth

Of course, I have seen it. I am not sure what gives you the impression you have, but it's just a trick of the light or something. I look at it, and see it differently. Think of when David says to the people who come with him to speak to the surviving engineer, "Their hyper-sleep chambers will impress..." Would it make sense for him to say that if three of the four were "broken out of", even with dead bodies inside? The lids of the hyper-sleep chambers are all flawlessly smooth, adding to the visual impressiveness of the film. I have seen in the special features of the blu-ray drawings of engineers who died in some of these hyper-sleep chambers, but I assume this wasn't put in the film after all.

@ Fleshvessel: You were right. I looked at the picture as you said and I saw the holes. I saw the film several times, too, without noticing before, and I felt certain that the hyper-sleep chambers looked intact. Not only is there what David said, but it also didn't seem possible because you'd think the xeno's wouldn't have burst out while their hosts were in cryo. I wonder what the surviving one knew about that. Maybe he was a saboteur, working against the others, who knows. The xeno's didn't harm him, yet he was in there and the xeno's that burst out would have been on board with him. After 2,000 years, they'd be dead, but maybe they were able to reproduce, because the pup by the door to the ship detected life for a few moments, maybe "from the other side of the door, in the cargo hold", say if a xeno came near for a while. I'm sorry for not believing you.

Hey, that's quite all right. It is tough to see at first. At least now we can put our heads together and try to figure out why the one pod was NOT burst. Was he a saboteur? Was he the only un-infected one prior to entering cryo? You're also right though, Alpha- why did they burst in cryo!? That is strange. I am trying to remember the end of Aliens and beginning of Alien 3 when Newt and Hicks die in cryo, and Ridley wakes up infected. How did that go down?

In fact I seriously think that other Engineers are still around the this moon. Certainly David and Shaw will become acutely aware of the Engineer world,,and their lager purpose in the scheme of things. You thread is serious in condering this question..and there no coubt in my mind that it will be addressed. Each poster can speculate a;; they want..and given the time , money and motivation,,could bring an answer to this question ina future movie project. Someone(I thought it was you, Custodian) referred to this movie as a TV show,,,and taken in bits..it could possibly be ,,,but not to me. However flawed the movie may seem..it is a work in progress,,and I am willing to ride out the story whereever RS wants to lead.. Unfortunely I am closer to Weylands age than you,,but still each step can be worthwhile. Now I need to read the middle section of posts..of this thread. .

I am not as easy to dismiss his observations so quicly since he was on the scene.. YOu may be right in your observations,,but with the heightens alertness/fright of Millburn,,his instincts would take over and give a spontaneous response. Still the greater question of this scene is why are they piled up , in this manner at that particular door? My DVD player gives me a quite dark scene easily missing the details discussed here. With the computer the image is much brighter and detailed,,which is horrifying to look at. Something very serious occurred and I want to know why!
