MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 10:54 AMI pose to you that this movie will certainly join the sci-fi movie endless watch ability list without ever getting sick of it. To me there are only a few movies that are on this list. If you think about it it is pretty amazing when something comes along like a song or a movie that you can watch or hear 56 times and still watch it another 56 times through your life and it be just as interesting every time as if it were the first time. My top 5 list in no particular order that is in this category are...
1.Alien
2.The Thing
3.Prometheus
4.Blade Runner
5.Preaditor
What are your top 5 sci-fi movies that could be watched endlessly with the same jubilation every time? BTW I am watching Prometheus for the 11th time tomorrow. Luckily it is still being showed at the Theaters here at the Military Base for free in 3D.

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 1:33 PMI am always a sucker for these sorts of lists. Lots of great films have been suggested so far. And like many of the people above, I would find it difficult to exclude 'Alien', 'Bladerunner' or John Carpenter's 'The Thing' from my list....
But some of my other cherished favourites are thus far unmentioned. So I here declare my unstinting devotion to:
'The Day the Earth Stood Still' (1951)
'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (both versions: 1956 and 1978)
and 'Westworld' (1973).

MemberFacehuggerJul-24-2012 2:52 PMI think everyone has mentioned the movies I would watch without thinking. Nice to see The Day The Earth Stood Still mentioned and Forbidden Planet.
If on the otherhand if I was to choose something that I like to re visit every now and then, and still not get tired of them it would have to be these.
Death Machine ( monster design definitely a robo-xeno imo)
The Keep
THX1138

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 4:14 PMjoeyjoe:
I wouldn't mind at all if X-Files' Chris Carter were to write the script for Prometheus and sequels.
Loved the X-Files back in the day... but got somewhat messy with all the Family Issues. At some tim e I felt I was watching a soup opera.

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 8:44 PM@david 1: Im with ya there. Carter did some fantastic work on the x files. Im also with you as far as the x files taking a bit of a nose dive in the later years. In my opinion, seasons 1-6 were incredible. season 7 was still pretty good and season 8 and 9 were both garbage (season 9 being the stinkier of the two pieces of garbage).
