MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 3:38 PMThats an strong point on Scott and how detailed he is. You can bet he went over every inch of the prior film and set, So you are right, the change has to be apart of the story and therefore I think you will have an explanation. Could come in the final 8 minutes of the film.

MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 3:38 PMI totally agree. Like an any artist, his first creation of the Alien universe was but the start of something new, but Prometheus will be the culmination of 30 years of thought.

MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 5:35 PMIt is that obsession to detail that Ridley has demonstrated that leaves me giving him a chance to explain or depict the Space Jockey's so called suit...since I saw Alien in 79 I have believed that was a Jockey skeleton growing out of the chair...not a suit, and for good reason. That is the one massive grievous continuity error that must be explained

MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 5:39 PMBeen saying this since the beginning. Too many visual discrpencies between the chair room in Alien and Prometheus trailers. Someone like Scott would not let that slip. Also, the room in Alien just looks like better craftsmanship. I doubt someone like Scott would go for a cheaper looking version of the exact same room.

MemberDeaconMay-24-2012 5:43 AMWell the lack of the Controll Panel and Sarcophagus does mean its not the same ship as in internal design....
But here could be a few reasons..
1) Thats why this ship is not the one that lands on LV426
2) Ridley decided to change somethings and add more detail, maybe this is how he had intended the Alien one to look, but did not get to do it in Alien due to time and budget, so maybe the design etc and details they ended up with was not what he envisioned.
3) Maybe somehow at some point those parts of the Derelict can move away and become hidden or changed in the ship some how.
