MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 6:52 PMHaha working for Weyland makes you live longer. Nice try old man Weyland!
What they don't say is for most of your career you wish you were dead.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:07 PMIt's strange : when you go back to the corporate timeline, the link to the project prometheus website leads to http://www.projectprometheus.com/pp-245409/
Instead of

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:11 PMfound this link on the new weyland info For more information please visit ProjectPrometheus.com.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:13 PMHola,
I have been browsing around here for awhile decided to join after I received the investor link in my email.
I was browsing through the information, became curious about the resources, especially the serious depletion of Eitr
Thought I do a look up on it:
Your text to link here...
Very curious.......

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:21 PMI bet that's what the background of the Weyland website is supposed to represent. Eitr at a molecular level.
Weyland has experimented much with extending life and finding minerals on other worlds.
Biomechanic
MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:21 PMWow hmmm interesting. I wondered if Eitr was found off-world somewhere: JIMO
I bet this Project Prometheus is a chance to find a new source of it? We investors can only hope.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:22 PMTotally fascinating!
Adamantine, Carmot, Eitr, Orichalcum, Tridium... The stuff of legends, I wonder why they don't talk about the patent for the philosopher's stone in the timeline!
It's also interesting to discover that, in 2073, Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Myanmar will be somehow cut out of the world!
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.
Biomechanic
MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:27 PMThey left willingly I am sure.
There were talks of some wars somewhere I thought. In the timeline something about an Asian conflict.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:40 PMIn addition, Sir Peter Weyland appears to be still in charge. Yet there is a S.P.W. memorial library. The plot thickens...

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 7:57 PMI find the choices of elements in this investor "guide" to be very interesting indeed:
These really do exist:
Tantalum - from the wiki:
Tantalum is also used to produce a variety of alloys that have high melting points, are strong and have good ductility. Alloyed with other metals, it is also used in making carbide tools for metalworking equipment and in the production of superalloys for jet engine components, chemical process equipment, nuclear reactors, and missile parts.[42][43] Because of its ductility, tantalum can be drawn into fine wires or filaments, which are used for evaporating metals such as aluminium. Since it resists attack by body fluids and is nonirritating, tantalum is widely used in making surgical instruments and implants. For example, porous tantalum coatings are used in the construction of orthopedic implants due to tantalum's ability to form a direct bond to hard tissue.[44]
Hafnium
Due to its heat resistance and its affinity to oxygen and nitrogen, hafnium is a good scavenger for oxygen and nitrogen in gas-filled and incandescent lamps. Hafnium is also used as the electrode in plasma cutting because of its ability to shed electrons into air.[47]
The high energy content of 178m2Hf was the concern of a DARPA funded program in the US. This program determined the possibility of using a nuclear isomer of hafnium (the above mentioned 178m2Hf) to construct high yield weapons with X-ray triggering mechanisms—an application of induced gamma emission, was infeasible because of its expense. See Hafnium controversy.

Antimony - from the wiki
The main use of antimony is in the form of antimony trioxide is used in the making of flame-proofing compounds. It is nearly always used in combination with halogenated flame retardants only exception is in halogen containing polymers. The formation of halogenated antimony compounds is the cause for the flame retarding effect of antimony trioxide.[43] It improves Markets for these flame-retardant applications include children's clothing, toys, aircraft and automobile seat covers. It is also used in the fiberglass composites industry as an additive to polyester resins for such items as light aircraft engine covers. The resin will burn while a flame is held to it but will extinguish itself as soon as the flame is removed. Fireproofing consumes about half of the annual production of antimony.[32][44]

Continues to be interesting......plus I'm learning all about Chemistry again.....

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 8:20 PMI think it's interesting that there are no David units in Weyland's defense department, but that they still list it. That has to hold some sort of significance. As a human, I'd be scared to have a synthetic deal with military issues (who knows if it'll malfunction or they'll organize and rise up). What I'm really wondering is: Weyland creates synthetics and yet won't use them for defense... but they do everything they can to obtain a life form they know next to nothing about for their defense department? Seems strange...
TheSNARK
MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 8:57 PMI don't know if it's significant, but the web page shows an emotional score for the David 7 as 92, while the down loaded JPG shows 44.
Could be a mistake, or the David 7 has an emotional defect they've tried to (unsuccessfully) hide!

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 4:42 AMDon't forget Carmot (another element linked to the Philosopher's Stone).
So, does anyone have a good idea about why the Resource list is populated by things that are both elements and non-elements, but Most of them are in Table of the elements format. ALSO: Those things that are elements are correct, whereas something like Tridium is ATOMIC NUMBER 627. Which is incredibly ridiculous...
Also Eitr apparently replaces Copernicium, element 112. Whereas Carmot is number 219...
