MemberOvomorph02/13/2012Alien Prequel news posted this story about music to be used for a "promo film" for 'Prometheus'....
"British electronica musician Gazelle Twin (aka. Elizabeth Walling) has revealed in a recent interview and on Twitter that a track from her latest album, 'The Entire City', will be used in a promo film for Prometheus.
In the interview posted on John Foxx' official website, Metamatic, she says:
"... fortunately, I recently learned that a short track excerpt from The Entire City is going to be used in a short promotional film made for Prometheus, the new Ridley Scott sci-fi epic. It's huge news for me, not only as a life-long Alien fan ..."
Exactly what this promotional film is, and how and when it will be presented is still a mystery. Although, looking back at the countdown teasers Fox released ahead of the official trailer, it's quite likely they'll do something similar before the Prometheus premiere.
Gazelle Twin hasn't stated exactly which of the tracks from her album will be used on the promo, but her album is available on Spotify and a couple of tracks are on YouTube if you do a search."
My question is....what's with this "promo film" exactly and when will it be released?

MemberOvomorph02/13/2012AVP GALAXY has also mentioned the the promo film:
"It’s looking like Fox will be doing some viral advertising for Prometheus as well. This knowledge came about after a music artist revealed one of her tracks would be in a short viral film. The artist, Elizabeth Walling, also spoke about it briefly in a recent interview."

MemberOvomorph02/13/2012No disrespect to Gazelle Twin, but I have little to no interest in the music....it's the "promo film" that has my attention....what exactly will it entail and when might we see it?

MemberOvomorph02/13/2012Probably a build up series before releasing a major theatrical trailer.

MemberOvomorph02/14/2012This gets better. Electronica and vocal? Will Marc Streitenfeld incorporate
some leftfield elements into his scoring work? I hope so.
I'm off to check this lady out on YT, cheerio for now.

MemberOvomorph02/14/2012Her music sounds pretty much atmospheric and suitable from what I've heard. I like 'Changelings', 'I am Shell I am Bone' and first half of 'Men like Gods'.

MemberOvomorph02/14/2012i like how one of the songs is called Men Like Gods......considering the subject matter of the film. im sure thats not the song featured in the promo though.

MemberOvomorph02/14/2012She could've been commissioned to write that particular track for the
intro project Reece - co-incidence? Who knows?

Look at her other songs, some with overt PROMETHEUS themes & references:
I AM SHELL I AM BONE, CHANGELINGS, and of course the most interesting of the bunch : MEN LIKE GODS

MemberOvomorph02/16/2012Almost all of the song titles could be perfect for the alien universe.
I doubt the singers voice will be included in the final score of the trailer. While her voice is hauntingly beautiful I don't see Enya'esque vocals being used in a sci-fi trailer. I can certainly see them using an instrumental version of the song Nest which seems more along the dark and bleak nature of Prometheus. IMHO of course!
