the AVPR conundrum

MemberPraetorianSep-14-2019 7:52 PMDK raised an interesting point HERE about AVPR that is worth discussing.
So can we assume the the Predalien works as a sort of mobile 'Queen'? It overruns a new ecosystem and is responsible for rapid production of xeno Drone/Warriors. The Predalien 'Queen' effectively eliminates the need for facehugger/eggs by directly impregnating hosts. This leaves the Predalien 'Queen' more vulnerable as it needs to directly assault its prey, but eliminates a clumsy life cycle stage that requires chance, or luring to procreate.
Whereas the Human-Drone evolved Queen (LV-426/Antarctica/Auriga) is more of an end-game hive 'defensive' Role. One that requires her to bunker down in a hive within an established colony of Xeno's, as both protector and protected of procreation. She requires Egg/facehuggers to project reproductive success, eliminating the need for this queen to directly interact with prey. But the Egg/Facehugger system requires luck or luring hosts to the eggs.
Pros/Cons:
The Predalien would likely have a shorter lifespan, mostly due to its direct interaction with its prey, putting itself in harms way and leading from the front. But results in explosive growth in numbers that can quickly overcome and resistance.
The Drone/Warrior Queen is more suited to longevity and survival geared towards creating and defending a deep-rooted and near impenetrable hive system.
Gunnison was overrun by 2 vectors of Xenomorph reproduction.
1. The eggs that impregnated the father and son, and
2. The Predalien 'Queen'.
We saw traditional human-warrior morphs following the Predalien around, but did we ever see the resulting 'morph of a predalien-human embryo through the film??
Throughout the film we see the ridged-head 'Warriors' similar to the LV-426 Xenomorphs. But the eggs that spawned these were from the Predator ship that picked up the impregnated Scar at the end of AVP.
Assuming they took some eggs with them from the Antarctica site, and these were the ones that impregnated the father and son in Gunnison the resulting Morphs have changed.
The Xeno's on Antarctica were smooth-headed/ Big Chaps aka Drones. The Xeno's in Gunnison were ridged-headed.
Its been a while since I watched AVPR, but this might actually inspire a re-watch :)

MemberTrilobiteSep-14-2019 8:51 PMAccording to the Strause Brothers (Colin & Greg) who wrote and directed AVPR, and whose company Hydraulx provided the movies visual effects claim that the PredAlien was a juvenile Queen AKA a Princess Xenomorph, that would have in time transformed into a full-on Queen.

MemberTrilobiteSep-14-2019 9:47 PMI like the idea of a mobile queen. Never occurred to me. If AVPR could have its own reboot of sorts done well, it could be a good movie. It did a couple things right but they were fleeting and not nearly enough to carry the movie.
It would have made sense for the Predators to take eggs from the site in AVP before leaving since they were already in the neighborhood but there was nothing in the movie to indicate that they had. And how could they obtain the eggs without having the face huggers activate? It seems to follow nonetheless. It almost seems like a similar mystery to the A3 egg. Well, not really a mystery but bad writing.

MemberChestbursterSep-15-2019 4:10 AMPredators from AvP couldn't take eggs from the pyramid because the pyramid was destroyed, and everything around too.

MemberTrilobiteSep-15-2019 6:25 PMI Raptus There is probably good reason why you haven't watched AVPR in a while. You have my sympathies if you re-watch.

MemberDeaconSep-16-2019 6:17 AMI saw it the other Day and the Predators had Transported a number of Face Huggers onto the Ship.
The Pred-Alien Comment is interested as INDEED it seemed to Produce Normal Xenomorphs that lacked any Predator DNA.
The Appearance was as with ALIENS and so it contradicts the theories we could have about WHY there was differences between Xenomorphs in the Franchise.
Such as Different Cargo Holds....
Or that they loose the Dome Carapace as they Mature.

MemberTrilobiteSep-16-2019 12:45 PMBD- when in AVP did predators transport face huggers? Do you mean AVPR?

MemberDeaconSep-16-2019 4:01 PMYeah! "I saw it the other Day and the Predators had Transported a number of Face Huggers onto the Ship."
IT being AVPR.... well the Opening Act.
Here is a On Set take of that Scene.

MemberTrilobiteSep-17-2019 12:09 AMBD- thanks. So that scene suggests (I have no idea about any novels or comics) that the Predators had been doing this on other worlds and that the face huggers and xenos were not exclusive to earth.
I tried to re watch AVPR but was quickly reminded on why I hate on it. That said, this could become a good pop corn series or at least a streaming movie. With some decent writing and bringing back Alexa, it could make a decent one off- and with a movie we can actually see without NVGs lol!

MemberDeaconSep-17-2019 8:48 AMThe Indication seems to Imply that they had Recovered the Face Huggers from the Pyramid at some point...
Because these Predators took them onto the Same Ship that they took the Body of Scar, after his Chest Buster, this Ship with those Face Huggers Crash down into the Forest.
Your Forgiven though... as its only something i remembered after my 3rd Viewing lol.... i now have made 4 and i am not sure i would watch it again.....
