You warned me about contradictions in that report so I'm cross referencing items from the Nostromo crew in the report and the movie (especially deleted scenes found on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HETCHl1npc&index=3&list=LLwyNYNcR59pbLUGn4_qhx8Q)
I'll pull out additional images from the deleted scenes from Alien for the character topics. I just came across this and it is great. At least all of this came from Ridley Scott himself.
No big revelations here with the Alien characters. I was refreshing myself and wanted to do topics on them in case anyone was interested too.
The way I look at it, Ridley Scott is writing and filming across the timeline from Prometheus to Alien: Awakening to Alien: Covenant to Alien to whatever he wants.
That should establish a long canon line from Scott. It looks like he is adopting concepts from outside (novels, comics) with the spores. That could verify canon harmony in other writings.
I've pulled technology examples from the Weyland Industries website for discussion because it was alongside Ridley Scott Prometheus concepts and the website was supported by 20th Century Fox.

I don't recall anything about Ripley in River of Pain that would pose any canon issues. All the material about her is lifted straight from Aliens.
