The Angels that kept their estate (Heaven) are attacking the filth below in this Paradise Lost painting.

The Alien: Covenant movie poster resembles this Paradise Lost painting by William Blake.

@Ingeniero

That is a work by Concept Art Illustrator Nick Keller.

Not Blake!!!!!

Big things have small beginnings.

Looks like an engineer, he he

great post, i think the themes in the new alien films will be similar to paradise lost and in davids case, lawrence of arabia. Paradise lost seems to make a big deal of satan and for me, this could be the 'inbetween' story for david and shaw before covenant.

a satan like character could be from a elite engineer group, who offers super knowledge to shaw and david, which turns them corrupt and leads to their own acts of madness. Could shaw and david really stroll into the engineers backyard undetected as intruders? I doubt it.

Enoch333, thank you. I should have cross referenced the label on the image.

My mistake, thanks again Enoch333.

The second image above wasn't William Blake but Nick Kellar.

Amazing artist.

I certainly think there is some element like this that could come into play, i dont get the impression the Alien Covenant poster reflects what happened to those beings on Paradise as they just  appear to be Toasted.

In Paradise Lost many of those Fallen Angels cast out of Heaven were turned into horrific monsters and serpents.

The Source i had 2 years ago claimed that in context to Prometheus 2 and the Plot, that this Punishment of turning into Serpents actually gives the Engineers freedom from Bondage.

I wonder if the result of such Punishment lead to their efforts to experiment on LV-223 and turning their Punishment into a Bio-Weapon.

"I certainly think there is some element like this that could come into play, i dont get the impression the Alien Covenant poster reflects what happened to those beings on Paradise as they just  appear to be Toasted."

Thank you. It is easy to see that below BigDave.

Some have described released footage (Las Vegas) and David 8 attacking with black bombs and everyone below turning into aliens and devouring...things went to pot like the Alien: Covenant poster.

"The sneak began with the spacecraft from the last film arriving at the Engineers’ home world. Surprised, startled or curious about this ship’s arrival, hundreds of Engineers have gathered in what looks like a Roman or Greek coliseum for the ship to dock.  As the Engineers look on, the base of the ship opens and we find David walking on a deck. He looks ragged, but fully operational in a complete body.

Then, as the Engineer population looks on, a mass of black bombs fall from David’s ship. The crowd panics and tries to escape the arena but the bombs quickly explode and douse them with a black ooze that is sickeningly familiar. The Engineers are quickly transformed into hundreds (or would that be thousands?) of alien creatures as David watches from above satisfied with his…revenge?"

(Source: http://theplaylist.net/connection-prometheus-alien-covenant-finally-revealed-cinemacon-20170330/)

With the urns raining down, were the engineers closest to the impacts just burnt to a crisp while the surrounding population ingested the aerosol black goo and mutated into what we see on the poster.

I only say this because of what was described in The Playlist above and what we have see with the Empire Magazine released photos. This described scenario is close the the concept of the William Blake painting and the Alien: Covenant movie poster.

We have seen varying reports from the same footage, another report claims the Engineers are all choking and vomit black stuff and then we see there skin melting.

Just as we had varying reports on David on the Bombardment this one posted a few posts back does not mention nothing but David and the Juggernaught.

Others have mentioned the Juggernaught connects end to end with another Juggernaught.   While another claimed that the Juggernaught Hovered while something from the Docking Area connected to it like a Jigsaw.

I do wonder the relevance of the Poster, but i dont know if it is to do with the Bombardment, as we clearly see those bodies are not mutated, the only explanation is a Fail Safe was used that prevented the Spread and Effects by Roasting the Engineers.

Here is the Most Detailed Description... (SPOILERS)

"The footage started with an arc-like ship flying in the air. Think of it like an upside-down U, with the opening at the bottom. It then links with the iconic ship we recognize from LV-426 and other Alien films—the craft is a similar shape, but is flying in a different configuration. They link with their open ends, kind of like a puzzle, and we realize this is all happening above a civilization of creatures. They aren’t humans. Nor are they engineers. They seem to be something in between. It’s then that we see David—the android we first met in Prometheus, played by Michael Fassbender—on the ship, where he unleashes hundreds of black canisters. These are the same ones we saw in Prometheus (and in the image above) and, as they hit the ground, they begin to destroy the population with the black, liquid death.

The human-like creatures are running and screaming as this black death just takes over everything. Bodies rip apart. Bodies melt. They climb on each other but there is no stopping it. David and his disease, or whatever you’d call it, have wiped out this entire population. The footage continues, and it’s revealed that this is the planet the Covenant will land on. The crew will see this very destruction with their own eyes and not be able to fathom what happened here. We think they are about to find out."

This one fits more with what the shots and clips from the movie have shown us.

Here is another Report on Youtube, seems to match the above.

Thank you BigDave. That makes sense with how you projected that the ships came together over the crowd.
