Facehugger's DNA Transference
setaverde
MemberFacehuggerMay-31-2019 10:53 AMThe facehugger injects in the host a substance (the black goo) that removes half of the DNA in the host. Then, the facehugger transfers its DNA material (sperm's chromosomes) that replaces the removed half in each Cell. The sperm reprograms itself and adapts to all types of cell. Finally, an aggressive and parasitic Embryo is formed and starts to develop, growing fast in the abdominal cavity and feeding directly from the blood stream of the host, until it becomes a full grown xenomorph. With its purpose completed, the facehugger dies.
Without the black goo, we have to create the Embryos in a laboratory. The procedure is the same. Remove half of the DNA in, for instance, a culture of skin cells, replace the removed half with the new DNA, using sperm's chromosomes. The sperm reprograms itself and adapts to this type of Cell. Embryos Will start to form, develop and grow to a certain Point, in the case of a human being.
Now, we need a Mother.
Remember that, in an embryo, cells copy themselves completely when they divide, and so mirror closely most other cells in the body, such as skin cells. That's why This is possible.

MemberChestbursterMay-31-2019 1:43 PMDo you read The Cold Forge?
Ovomorph - first organism.
Facehugger - second.
Plagiarus Praepotense - third. The bacterium that rewrite DNA and creates Alien. Facehugger is just a host for Plagiarus Praepotense. Plagiarus Praepotense can create Alien without facehugger. Like Black Goo.

MemberFacehuggerMay-31-2019 1:52 PMLeto, i never read that book, "cold forge".
Second, This is based on a science article. I never meant to be original. I ONLY bring ideas to the table, good ones, i may say. Prometheus opened with an engineer drinking a Yellow gold liquid, that does exactly what i've described. This is not the right place to write a thesis.
Well, i'm sorry. It's my dream to achieve your high standards. Don't bother to answer me.

MemberChestbursterMay-31-2019 1:55 PMWell, you have to do it. You will be pleasantly surprised.

MemberFacehuggerMay-31-2019 2:07 PMI have written a thesis, a cientific One. But that's not important. It was when i wrote it, but not any more.

MemberChestbursterMay-31-2019 2:14 PMEasy. You don't understand me. I just write about alien circle from TCF book. I don't criticize you! I just wrote that the Alien life-cycle from the TCF is similar to what you wrote and I thought that it would be interesting for you.

Prometheus is an amazing film. Everything is so plausible and rational.
What fears me the most is the biological advances/ breakthroughs. The desire to be god Will provoke our extinction. More than machines/androids/robots.

MemberPraetorianMay-31-2019 5:55 PMPROMETHEUS is filled with so many interesting elements. Ridley said that if you wanted to kill thousands, or millions of people all you need do is add some virus to the water supply.
It's a scary thought, all of those labs filled with every virus known to man. Experiments in Biological Warfare. The Plum Island Animal Disease Facility, for example!

MemberPraetorianJun-01-2019 12:22 AMI agree with Leto. Alex Whites Alien: The Cold Forge is a must read. As well as being an enjoyable plot White attempt's to fill in some of the enigma of the xenomorph reproductive systems :)

@Lone
Reality is far more scary than fiction.

MemberDeaconJun-03-2019 7:34 AMI have not READ most of the Expanded Novels which includes Alien: The Cold Forge
Looking at the Movies Alone, then indeed there seems a Related Parasitical Element as we can see with the Neomorph Spores they release those Tiny Particles of the Parasitic Element. When David examines the Ampoule we can see Tiny Particles.
The Franchise and Expanded Comics/Games etc seem to imply a Franchise Implants a Embryo... However in ALIEN the X-Ray we dont see this, they notice a like Shadow/Mist/Cloud and so this does add up to say similar to what we see with the Neomorph Spores, only its like the Facehugger replaces the Spore and Injects the Motes/Parasitic Particles/Pathogen.
So yeah we could Speculate that these then Combine/Clump up together and start to Fuse/Multiply while taking DNA/Traits from the Host to then Construct a Hybrid Organism that becomes the Embryo/Chest Buster etc.

MemberTrilobiteJun-04-2019 4:09 AMI have my own theory on the "birthing" process. However, I am no biologist so maybe someone could fill in the technicalities...
IMO...
From the proboscis extended down a hosts throat, the Facehugger implants a cell. This cell once implanted and settled within the host's chest takes root and secures itself (think of the tendrils underneath the Ovomorph/Eggs). Once secured this cell absorbs one of the host's cells and produces a clone of the host. This cell, which is in essence a form of the black pathogen (a nano-virus-AI), and like a virus, infects the clone embryo within it and reconstructs/reorders the DNA of the host as per the instructions/template stored within the AI component of the cell creating a "biomechanical clone" of the host with maturation traits similar to those of insects, whereby after bursting from the hosts chest the "biomechanical clone" will grow to adult size.
With this method the "biomechanical clone", AKA the Xenomorph, being artificial (AI - artificial intelligence) and being a clone would have no soul, or more correctly would be an empty vessel, devoid of remorse, contempt, or emotion, and be driven by pure survival instincts. The resulting Xenomorph would not adopt traits from its host but instead, inherit them. And finally being a clone of the host they would have their hosts DNA. So if "Big Chap" had his DNA checked it would have come up as a match to Kanes DNA. I think the Xenomorphs human skull and humanlike form (doglike form in Alien 3) support this theory.
What some may not like is that this theory heavily implies that the Xenomorph is not a natural entity, but instead is an artificially created abomination created by a synthetic virus, an artificial biological weapon that creates empty, twisted copies of whatever it kills, much like in Invasion of the Bodysnatchers or the Thing.

MemberDeaconJun-04-2019 5:58 AMI think that makes sense Gavin
Looking at Alien however, the X-Ray shows a like Black/Grey Cloud of Particles and so your theory works but its maybe NOT a implanted Cell, but a Cluster of Cells/Virus that Join together to then Create a Hybrid Organism.
This would add up with Alien Covenant, because if we instead assume the Many Tiny Spore Motes can each become a Organism, then WHY do we only get One Organism that Gestates inside Ledwood and Hallett? The only Logical Way is ONCE we have One of the Motes start to Evolve into the Organism it sends a signal that deactivates the other Motes.
Regarding the taking of Traits from a Host, this is maybe a ideal Survival Tactic so that the MORPH will be ideal to the Environment it will exposed to.
So for example should a Ocean/Water based Organism become infected (Face Hugger, Neomorph Spore or Black Goo) then to have the Resulting Organism become something say Bi-Pedal would maybe not Suit the Environment as far as KILLING off all Life in that Environment.
But if something is Evolved like the Image Above, then it would become more so the APEX Predator of that Environment, this is Especially ideal as part of a Engineered Bio-Weapon.
