I couldn't sleep, and while I was lying on my bed and staring at the ceiling an idea popped into my head so I got out of the bed and made this parody poster.

Based on the expectations and comments by Ridley Scott.

Here's the final result of my experimentation:

Whether Alien: Covenant will get a sequel, or will it be called Alien: Awakening is still under the question mark. We shall see.

Here's the DVD Version, I couldn't come up with a better plot synopsis.

You can already tell who's more screwed.

Nice stuff Dark Nebula!

Still, even if we don't actually see a Xenomorph in the whole movie doesn't mean it doesn't have to be about the Xenomorph.  The whole prequels are about who the Giants are (which are Engineers).  Plus, Ridley wants to explore the ORIGINS of the Xeno.  These are a great base for some great stories of a great franchise.  Still, with those points in mind and with the idea that these are PREQUELS, I think these prequel movies don't have to actually SHOW a Xenomorph.

I WANT MORE ENGINEERS!!!!!  I guess there should also be some quick Xeno sculptures or something.  Even a Xeno egg can visually tie the franchise to the original quadrilogy.

All this Xeno talk, I feel, is just weighing down the franchise.  Save the Xeno's for Alien 5 - Alien ∞.  I really appreciate what Ridley Scott is doing to the franchise, especially with Prometheus.  He's opening the franchise up to so much more than the Xeno.  There's plenty of room for a second quadrilogy that takes place maybe for another alien race that we have no idea exists?  It's kind of resemble of the "Out of the Shadow" series.

Maybe Blomkamp should make Alien 5?  I would love a grand finale for Weaver in an Alien 5 that DOESN'T remove Alien3 and A:R from the series.  Alien 5 wouldn't be such a bad idea.  I mean, if we just keep reusing the Xeno, like BigDave has said in other threads, the Xeno just becomes a Jason or Michael Myers.  Ridley Scott is keeping this franchise alive with fresh ideas.  Prometheus was a home run.  It wasn't a grand slam, but it definitely scored in my book.

@I Moon Girl

I think this is a rael problem with literally prequels as Lindeloff rightly said you are always going to end up knowing how it ENDS

The Direction to change Prometheus and what it may have covered to Alien Covenant has now taken, had now left us with 1-2 movies where at somepoint the Xenomorph will have to be shown again, and indicated as to how so many Eggs get on the Derelict.

This is where they have written themselves into a Corner... IF we Safely Assume without Davids Actions and Experiments on Planet 4 there would be NO Xenomorph Eggs on LV-426 then the Ending of Alien Covenant does set up a Spoon Fed Story to connect the dots..

*Thousands of Eggs on the Derelict CHECK

*David is the Creator of the Eventual Xenomorph CHECK

With......

*David alone in control of the Covenant ship with THOUSANDS of Colonist and Embryos and TWO Xenomorph Face Hugger Embryos.

This is more than Coincidence... all thats needed now is HOW/WHEN does Davids Xenomorph (IF if does) get evolved to the more Mechanical Xenomorph in ALIEN?

How/when DOES Davids Xenomorph Eggs get onto a Engineer Ship that then is heading or leaving from the Zeta 2 Reticuli System?

Again this shows that a Engineer Ship has to come into play... and then we have to consider does David go to Origae-6 and WHY and we have to assume Origae-6 is not close to LV-223/426 but Davids Eggs must Evolve and End up near/in that system within a space of 10  YEARS to link to the Derelict in Alien.

Its how can this be tackled... yet giving a movie that is LESS Xenomorph and more AI as RS puts it?

My Alien: Ascension sequel covers this but its only in broad ideas and synopsis stage as i have a few routes it can evolve and so i have yet to decide where exactly it will go.... MAINLY because of how i wish to explore the Final Chapter Alien: Absolution and its case of ideas for Part 3 may conflict those in Part 2.

Hence the reason i abandoned my very AI/Company Prometheus 2, because of conflicts with my very Engineers and GOD.. Part 3 ideas.

Regarding Blomkamps Alien 5

It appears this project had some interesting ideas.... its only FLAW?

Resurrecting Ripley, Newt and Hicks...  i think the route Blomkamp was taking was like a Fork in the Road... so we have Alien, Aliens (and Prequels) we then get to the aftermath of Aliens where Alien 3 comes in...

Blomkamp was going to offer a WHAT IF.... as in what if the events of Alien 3 dont happen... so it gives the fans a Alternative Sequel to Aliens.... where Fans can enjoy Alien 3 and Alien 5 but consider them as TWO alternative endings/continuations to Aliens.

I was HARSH on his ideas as i think it was a Fan Service that had to bring in Ripley, and apparently at FIRST his ideas never included Ripley but while working with Miss Weaver she had discussed his ideas and got him to include Ripley (i thought Miss Weaver wanted Ripley dead in Alien 3 lol).

But it seems his ideas seem to tell a story of the Company getting the Derelict (or other Engineer Ship) and Finally getting their hands on not only the Xenomorph but Engineer Technology and attempting to Re-Engineer and Utilize both.

Latter his ideas evolves to reinstate Ripley, Hicks and Newt, even maybe passing the Torch to Newt.  Again.... I was not a Fan of this idea... due to how it could affect Alien 3....

I think Blomkamps ideas could merge well with my ideas for how to carry on after Alien Resurrection.. and still include Miss Weaver.

I had/have a idea how to make the Derelict appear to be so old, it involves a Engineer well those well above the Engineers Technology that Destroys LV-223 and causes a Rift in Space and Time.. that sends the Derelict back thousands of years....  But also could open up Alternative Dimensions/Futures.

But taking this route for Alien is one thing.. allowing the Alternative Universes caused by a EVENT (Tear in Space and Time) to also allow for a Blomkamps Alien 5 instead of Alien 3 opens up a whole CAN OF WORMS where they can just Retcon what ever they want...

Just as the Clover-Universe has done after the Cloverfield Paradox movie.

BigDave said, "I think this is a rael problem with literally prequels as Lindeloff rightly said you are always going to end up knowing how it ENDS"

I agree with this to a point.  Still, the I think how the eggs get on LV-426 can be ignored till the last 15 minutes.  The rest 1hr and 45 min of the movie can be about anything else.  The last 15 minutes could be explained in a very simple dialogue between David and an Engineer teaching David a lesson.

In that kind of story, the 1979 ALIEN doesn't weigh down the last of the prequels.  Instead, Alien: Awakening covers how the rogue A.I. David dies, Engineer culture, and what happened to the 2,000 colonists.  The Engineer culture could explain everything really and that is something greatly missing from the prequels.  I feel that the idea that David created the first Xenomorph to EVER EXIST could be wrong.  David could have a rude awakening and realize he is not the next, great visionary that he thought he was.  Instead, David finally realizes he's not a visionary, but instead, is a rotten, spoiled, and evil "child" of humans because he forgot how to be a robot, which is what he is.  He could reply, "But it was what I was programmed to do." (because Walter said the David series had to be recalled).  I'm sure David would be crying too.  The Engineer then replies with some interesting wit that only David would understand because he found some of it on Planet 4 when investigating what David did.  The Engineer could say something like, "You killed my people and took advantage of our knowledge to leave constant destroy in your wake.  You can't even be what you were "born" to do.  There is no forgiveness for what you have done."

The Engineer could go on...

"Your just like a fellow Engineer who thought he could take life and death into his own hands.  In the end, though David, we killed him too and we're going to do the same with you.  You can't escape your creators!" (the Engineers created humans who created robots.  So, in a sense, the Engineers are David's creators too.)

Maybe we could get a last shot of the derelict on LV-426 during this Engineer speech and maybe a little visuals on showing how the Engineers killed the rogue Engineer.

@I Moon Girl

You certainly DONT need a Spoon Fed whole Space Jockey Explanation, and Prometheus gave us the clues but they was WAY to vague and ambiguous....   Ridley Scott explained the Space Jockey Event  a few times the last time he did (prior to Alien Covenant) he added about a EVOLVING Cargo.  Here is a break down of what he said.

*The Derelict/Juggernaught are related but are separated by a maybe few hundred years.

*The Space Jockey/Engineers are Brothers, they are related.

*The Juggernaught/Derelict are Biological Warfare carrying Cargo Ships and Bombers to a degree.

*The Space Jockey event is related to LV-223.

*The Space Jockey event happened within a few-hundred years of the LV-223 Outbreak (2000 years ago) give or take.  Few Hundred years prior or after is the Question?

*The Derelict did-not crash as per say.. it had intended to land on LV-426

The exact Space Jockey Event is described as Follows.

*The Derelict was heading to a undisclosed Location.

*It did not get Far before/because the Pilot was infected.

*He was infected by his Cargo, something had Evolved in the Cargo and it got to the Pilot.

*The Pilot knowing this laid down a course to the Baron LV-426 and set of a Warning to his Brothers that his Cargo was Compromised.

*The Space Jockey attempted to Land the Derelict and become Chest Busted during the Final Stages of Landing.

So THIS was the explanation... and we did not need to see these step by step.... a few clues would have been enough, and so EVEN with the Change of Direction THEY do not have to show us the complete event STEP-BY-STEP

I think the Plan was TWO movies for this... but IF they did ONE movie than they would certainly be better off showing us a few clues and NOT the whole Event on Screen..

IF they are Clever.... they could have the Final Prequel in the closing Scene show a Giant Engineer 12ft get into the Pilot Chair, take off and show us the Egg Chamber and reveal a Face Hugger is loose... or even have David Regurgitate up a Embryo after he gets KILLED (beheaded)  by the Engineer Again...  we see this Tiny Face Hugger uncoil and start to Grow and Scurry Off...

THIS leaves the Ending OPEN... so IT could be what happened to the Space Jockey but IT could also be NOT what happened...

The problem with David is a lot of fans view him as a Robot....

Ridley Scott covered what is a AI and he said that Baty and Racheal were AI and so Replicants are AI.... AI basically meaning something Artificially Created that is Intelligent and so CLONES could be AI... the LV-223 Engineers could be AI

We need to look at David being a Synthetic Intelligent being, a Robot YES but a Robot who has Emotions, Emotions that start to Develop more Human than the Company maybe intended...  David also started to gain Free-Will and so he would now see himself as a Intelligent Sentient Being who while Synthetic, is more Advanced than Humans in Every-way... he is even more Immortal than a Human.  The ONLY thing he cant do is CREATE Life as a Human Can...

The Basis for Prometheus which began with Alien Engineers was that at some point the ENGINEERS lost their Ability to CREATE Life Naturally too. This was changed a bit for Prometheus, well Ridley Scott commented that they can Create Life in other Ways but the Sacrificial Scene was how they chose to do it.  And so David Can Create Life via using the Engineers Black Goo and Experiment with it but it would be a Artificial Creation like David... however a Creation that can Pro-create which David Can-not do.

If the Engineers lost the ability to Procreate, or the LV-223 Engineers are to the Planet 4 Engineers as Replicants are to Humans.. and so the LV-223 Engineers CAN-NOT Procreate via Giving Birth (prior to AC we could ponder if All Engineers had lost this ability).

Then this would give us a GOOD Reason why those Engineers Worshiped the Mural in Prometheus, IF something related to the Xenomorph or the Black Goo allowed THESE Engineers to Give Birth/Create Life via something Growing inside of them... they could indeed be Facinated by the Xenomorph (and related) Organisms LIFE-CYCLE.

IF we get back to Davids Xenomorph and connect to ALIEN.. we could introduce the Engineers or a Race above them who SEE Davids Creation and see it as interesting and Perfect or a Improvement over what the LV-223 Engineers had been doing..

THUS.... having these beings Take David's Creation and EVOLVE/ENGINEER it would mean that the Xenomorph in ALIEN is a Product where David only plays the Middle Man... and the Engineers or Related are responsible for the Knowledge/Tools for David to USE to Engineer his Creation and these beings then TAKE Davids Creation and EVOLVE it into the Classic Bio-Mechanical Xenomorph.

THIS^^^ Kind of Twist would fit with the Philosophy of Prometheus and make the Xenomorph in Alien something that David only played a Part in its Creation.

Ha ha ha! :D

That's what I am saying, new threads.

Well done, I like it.

Mmm barbecue!  ;)

I Moon Girl:

As long as they have new and interesting monsters that are somehow connected to the Xenomorph it is alright. The Engineers could be interesting if they are made interesting but then things got to make sense and they got to have a connection to the Xeno and or the goo. Hopefully they can save it so David did his own version of the Xeno, having it created from a psycho droid is boring.

I would also like to see more Engineers but they got to be interesting and make sense. They should focus on the human characters first, everything else is secondary to me. Alien 3 is my favorite of the Alien movies, it is a fitting end to Ripley. They should not remove it from canon.

"Ridley Scott is keeping this franchise alive with fresh ideas."

He should stick to directing otherwise we will get crap like David being responsible for the Xeno.

"Its how can this be tackled... yet giving a movie that is LESS Xenomorph and more AI as RS puts it?" (Big Dave)

If more AI means more Androids that are talking about philosophy then no thanks. If it means things that are not born naturally like an experiment then the Xeno might be so and if so then OK but no more android movies within the franchise because that is what AC was and it got boring.

Thank you very much, everyone.

@Ingeniero Nice *thumb up*

About the sequel, well If we, the fan(boy)s won't complain that much, we would get what we want.

Originally Prometheus was supposed to be a direct prequel to Alien, with humans vs xenomorphs vs engineers, but the studio came in and wanted to dial away from alien and focus more on the engineers. Since then, the fan base was divided and each has its own expectations.

Prometheus 2 was supposed to focus more on engineers and Shaw and David's journey, but because of the mixed fan reaction of Prometheus, and a lot of people compared the film with Jon Spaiht's version of the script and said how much it would have been a better film if they went with that script. This I think (and that  Blomkamp's alien 5 hype) caused the studio and Ridley to realize people wanted an alien film with xenomorphs.

But fan (boy)s complaining has always been a problem for many studios. I can see the same thing now with star wars. George Lucas wanted to finish the vision he wanted since the first star wars film, but all the complaints and hate he has been getting from fans caused him to give up from his vision and sell star wars to Disney. When Disney acquired rights to star wars all I've been hearing is "Yipehh we are saved from evil George Lucas!!" But since the release of star wars the last Jedi all I keep hearing is "DISNEY/RYAN KILLED STAR WARS!!".
