"What do ya suppose killed Babe?"

Good question...this randomly popped into my head this morning.Never really seen a face hugger kill its hoast like it does Babe the Ox in the Alien 3 Assembly cut.Spike the dog wasn't killed by it and he's a much smaller animal than an ox.Any thoughts?

It never crossed my mind but you are right that is something interesting to ponder. Since babe was dead likely due to trauma where the burster grew (lungs), it seems the burster no longer required an oxygen source after Babe died. At this time, my best guess would be that Babe was not dead for long. Perhaps the burster ran out of oxygen after Babe died, panicked and burst out at that time?

Perhaps the inmates found it comatose (post face-hugged) and had it sent to slaughter for a big old barbecue?

I never thought it either lol.I had an extremely bizarre dream about Alien 3 and awoke with this question in my head.One theory i have is perhaps the Royal Facehugger that the assembly cut teased.The Facehugger is quite large and the ox also significantly bigger mouth and head.

IRaptus That sounds plausible. The difference was it never seemed to wake up and walk around like people did before the burst. I might chalk it up to a difference of physiology from humans, except the dog was conscious just prior to the burst in the other cut. Maybe Babe was old and just stayed asleep.

Oh dang I just watched this Saturday and wondered the same thing.  I guess the older I get, Alien 3 is not that bad.  Just some really odd choices of cinematography.

Agreed.The Alien theory video doesn't give any insight as to why babe keeled over,but it does highlight some interesting things about the Royal Facehuggers reproductive capabilities that could perhaps give an idea as to why though.

I don't think Babe was alive in the burst scene. It looked rather stiff as if rigor mortis set in. I also noted no signs of breathing when it was briefly shown still.

She died from boredom by having to watch the flute scene in AC over and over again. ;)

I am not sure which one is worse - Alien Covenant or Resurrection.

Umm how could Babe died of watching Alien Covenant? That movie wasn't even out yet! Also Covenant is way better than Resurrection!
