MemberChestbursterMar-04-2018 6:44 PMI watched it Saturday evening on HBO and I just finished watching it a second time tonight (Sunday) while I was cooking and eating dinner.
I got lucky and got 3 months of HBO for free, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I naturally will watch A:C for free. It may be the only movie I watch on HBO.

MemberPraetorianMar-07-2018 11:45 AMThank you for the great info, Ingeniero.
Perhaps they'll broadcast its super-extended version as well. :D

MemberChestbursterMar-07-2018 8:05 PMIn the version I watched on HBO, I did notice a scene or two cut from the movie. It was a very small scene.
I also thought that some of David's lines were re-recorded and played over David's original lines when he was in the lander with Daniels, T, and Lope when they were getting off of Planet 4.
I hate when this happens. It seems like the movie is in constant flux on what it actually contains. I noticed scenes missing from when I saw it in theaters when I compared to when I rented over cable and from Redbox (the local movie dispenser for non-Americans)(I guess Redbox is only in America?).
It's the same with Alien. I just need to actually buy a copy which will always stay the same... and most likely be a nice long version that doesn't fit to some predetermined time schedule.

MemberTrilobiteMar-07-2018 8:11 PMI Moon Girl That sucks. Try to get the Quadrilogy/Anthology on blue ray used. It's the only way to be sure.

MemberPraetorianMar-08-2018 7:34 AMWe are using HBO's offer in the same exact way I Moon Girl. Rock on.
I noticed that Karine Oram didn't say "you better not be smoking" to Ledward when he took a break in the HBO version. I guess Karine scolding Ledward for a splif break was too much to bear for the HBO audience.
dk is correct and the dvd new version of the Quadilogy is inexpensive too if you don't want to spring for the Blue-Ray.

MemberTrilobiteMar-08-2018 11:02 PMYes, the Quadrilogy DVD set is quite impressive and likely dirt cheap. It is 8 discs that fold out to over two feet long. Most importantly, it is all there content wise.

MemberTrilobiteMar-13-2018 2:33 PMJust saw it on HBO- seems a bit different somehow. Considering conversations about David the forum has had, I was pumped that AC was immediately followed by Silence of the Lambs!
dk
MemberTrilobiteMar-13-2018 5:02 PMAfter seeing it again after a while, I was a little underwhelmed with the creatures and liked the David arc more this time. Pacing and meaningful characters was an issue too. Not a bad movie though. I hope for a good balance next time.

I bought the Alien Anthology. It apparently has more stuff than the Quadrilogy. Thanks for the motivation! I can't wait till it gets delivered!
dk
MemberTrilobiteMar-15-2018 9:24 PMI Moon Girl It does have much more than the Quadrilogy. You will not be disappointed.
