I think some fans need to look at the Xenomorph in regards to the WHOLE Franchise and we will see that ONLY the one in ALIEN has that True Bio-Mechanical Aesthetic followed closely by the ones in ALIENS while the other movies are not to far apart.

Aliens we got a slightly toned down Bio-Mechanical Xenomorph, but the Queen Actually looked more Organic and Insect like.... in ALIEN only the Adult Xenomorph and Derelict Ship looked Bio-Mechanical, the Face Hugger and Eggs looked Organic and the Chest Buster also looked more Organic than Mechanical
As movies Progressed the HR Giger Aesthetic of Machine meets Biology was toned down more and more with each movie. It could be we will NEVER return to the True Bio-Mechanical Aesthetic of HR Gigers Surreal Neconomicon Design.
There are rumors that during production of some of the movies, there was some differences and disagreements between HR Giger and the Producers and then the HR Giger Estate (after his death) as far as using HR Gigers Aesthetic and so the Production was told to Tone Down the HR Giger Bio-Mechanics.
Ridley Scott however has said their is a Reason the Xenomorph was Bio-Mechanical and we have NOT-YET Reached this Stage yet, and so Davids Creation will have to Evolve to take on these Traits at some point between the end of Alien Covenant (late 2104) and ALIEN (2122) with David likely going to Origae-6 which will take nearly 7.5 years (well 7.3 years) this will leave us with a NO MORE than 10 year Gap to Evolve Davids Xenomorph in Alien Covenant to that of which we see in ALIEN
