Exactly! You hit the target.
And if we don't want to/don't have time to name fifteen genres to describe a movie/AC, we say it is a science-fiction horror.

I found this
Predator is a 1987 American science-fiction action directed by John McTiernan.[4] It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite special forces team which is on a mission to rescue hostages from guerrilla held territory in Val Verde in Central America's Northern Triangle. Kevin Peter Hall co-stars as the titular antagonist, a technologically advanced form of extraterrestrial life secretly stalking and hunting the team. Predator was written by brothers Jim and John Thomas in 1985, under the working title of Hunter. Filming began in April 1986 and creature effects were devised by Stan Winston

Suspense is the key work here.
Ka-ching!

MemberFacehuggerOct-22-2017 8:49 PMEdited for I Moon Girl...you are right, imagry was pretty good...so it was a "visually moving slasher". But I also agree that Prometheus bested it. I feel bad for the audience of AC that didn't have the back drop of the other films. It had to be confusing and probably didn't recruit a new fan base (important for ratings/sequels?). And for those with the historical back drop...i feel bad for them (me) as well, it had to be confusing. :-)
