I am still intrigued by the ideas of 'being what has been before' that I keep finding in Prometheus & AC. In our existence, Noah made a Covenant with GOD. Noah was given the 10 Commandments and so long as the people lived in accordance with these 10 Commandments, GOD would allow mankind's existence. The 10 Commandments were kept in The Ark of the Covenant & could be used as a weapon by unleashing its power against their enemies....Like in Raiders of the Lost Ark...HAHA. In Alien Covenant, the humanoids on Planet 4 appear to be monks & lacking in technology. I think they have also agreed to a Covenant with their GOD, that they would no longer participate in their meddling with the Xenomorph, the black mutagen, or the life cycle associated with the Xeno. Do you think this will be a part of the next story? Will the Engineer's GODs come after David, for breaking their laws surrounding the mutagen & the Xenomorph? I really hope there is another race above the Engineers that is like nothing we could ever have imagined!

I like the sound of this comparison. Thanks for bringing it up. It could work that the Planet 4 beings were a result of not messing with the black goo/xenomorph anymore, then David comes in and destroys them all with the goo and creates even more xenomorphs. Whoever is higher up may be coming to put another end to the use of the black goo and xenomorph creations. Like "damnit, we just got Planet 4 straightened out, then this a-hole comes and starts it all over."

I think the title "Covenant" is an allusion to David's future sacrifice; the next film will show David making a pact with the Engineers, and he'll give up his right to life so that equality can happen. In practice, this would mean that David becomes the Space Jockey

It's Moses not Noah the one who received the 10 commandments and made the ark. Noah's ark is related to the flood.
"He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"

@ drucea -That is the story I am hoping we could see?
@trokanmariel - We have got to answer the Space Jockey question!
@ daliens - Oops, I have spent too many Sundays thinking of biblical references to Alien-Covenant during the sermons!! HAHA!!

"The Noahic covenant[Gen 9:8-17] applies to all of humanity and to all other living creatures.[8]In this covenant, God promises never again to destroy all life on Earth by flood[9:11] and creates the rainbow as the sign of this "everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the Earth." (Wikipedia)
David destroyed every living creature of all flesh on planet 4 (the "meat" if you want) by the black flood, he is like a god. The rocket he fired to save the Covenant crew is like a rainbow. And I always thought of the Covenant ship with its cargo of colonists and embryos like a new Noah's ark for a dying species. Now David is supposed to protect the colonists and reign in peace in the new world of Origae 6. He took the facehugger embryos because they were the last living creatures of planet 4, like Noah took the lamb and the wolf on his ark.
David has only good intentions.
"He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"

my thoughts were that the "Covenant" was a pact between David and WY. If Davids files were sent chronologically or as they were filmed. Then potentially WY may of been communicating with David for 10 years. Also David and Shaw prior to that.
Just a thought.
Could just as well be your ideas
Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

I believe David's files were sent after he was on board the Covenant. If Weyland-Yutani had some knowledge about his experiments they would have sent a military expedition first, to annihilate David, instead of waiting until he had the upper hand.
Why would Weyland-Yutani risk a colonization expedition, the total loss of the ship, crew and cargo of 2000 colonists and embryos to negotiate with a malfunctioning, unreliable android?
"He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"

daliens I agree with your rationale. David shouldn't be in cahoots with Weyland-Yutani, as that would undermine David's agenda of being hostile to humanity. Plus, David doesn't imply positive thoughts with respect to Peter Weyland, so that too goes against David being linked to Weyland-Yutani

"In Alien Covenant, the humanoids on Planet 4 appear to be monks & lacking in technology. I think they have also agreed to a Covenant with their GOD, that they would no longer participate in their meddling with the Xenomorph, the black mutagen, or the life cycle associated with the Xeno."
Great point above and overall topic Cerulean Blue. I believe that David's words below from Advent below may lend support to a "Covenant" that the Engineers agreed to.
"But then they tried to banish the wolf, And undo their creation. So I took their secrets for myself."
My question is "why" would the Engineers set aside the wolf?
They had to agreed to do this and who convinced them to do it?

@Ingeniero - Absolutely!!! When will we answer the elephant question in the room of 'WHY'??? Along with this, we should be able to learn of 'WHO', as well? These are still the burning questions I have. I like AC, just do not really care for the story of 'HOW', be it David re-animated the eggs/Xeno/motes/Neomorph, etc. Why do these creatures even exist & Who started all of this chaos? AC helps, but it is far from the story I am needing Sir Ridley to get back to making! I honestly hope these answers take (2-3) more installments!!
