MemberChestbursterAug-25-2017 3:58 PMI went to 2 different best buys and a walmart and at each one, alien covenant was almost out of stock. this seems to be a good sign to me. also, gardians of the galaxy2 was hardly selling at all. this is just small scale so it probably won't meen much. just making a sample size estimate.

MemberTrilobiteAug-25-2017 4:05 PMAC might be a word of mouth creeper. I was just at a grocery store and it was stocked with GOTG discs and zero AC discs. I am not bashing GOTG but I think it may not be long before I can get a less than $10 copy at a Wal Mart bargain bin soon just because so many copies were made.

MemberChestbursterAug-25-2017 4:09 PMon a seperate topic, I am currently making a fan edit of alien covenant and when I was done, i was wondering if i could show it on this forum. would it be considered copyright?
it will include every deleted and extended scene on the blue ray, will cut out the part were ferris slips in blood, will add the last supper clip, the lunar audi quatro clip edited together with some of the she won't go quietly footage during the xenomorph hunt at the end, have the crossing included in the david flashback, cut out the neomorph entering the engineer temple before it kills that lady, slow down the opening title a bit for dramatic effect, use some of the vr footage of alien covenant in utero so we can get some inside of body shots with he backburster, replace on of the xenomorph Pov shots with the leaping xenomorph shot in red light, have most the meet walter footage right before the opening david scene, exept when he says that his name is walter providing the illusion that it is david that is being built, not walter, and have the advent video as a post credits scene. its runtime will be around 2 hours and 25 minutes.

No problem with that scene, anybody can produce similar and way much more ridiculous actions in emergency situations.

MemberTrilobiteAug-25-2017 4:26 PMYeah- I know nothing about the movie and really don't care. Just looking at the dvd box, it looks like super hero kid's movie. A Dog's Life seems infinitely more interesting to me.
Slipping in blood is pretty realistic as blood is actually very slick.

ModeratorPraetorianAug-25-2017 4:38 PMI watched GoTG 1 and it was ok as popcorn flick but agreed its marketed for kids/teens. Much like the Transformers and Avengers films they are appealing for their bombastic special effects, sounds and quirky silly characters and two dimensions antagonists.
Fun to watch but only skin-deep. Pure entertainment films. Much like the AVPs minus the entertainment rofl.

Ati the thing about the blood slipping scene is that it happens twice in a row. if there is only one blood slip witch my version would have it won't seem like a plot device to get them killed.

MemberChestbursterAug-26-2017 4:30 PMThe blood slips are good. I mean they just encountered an alien for the first time in history that they know of. It's hard to pay attention when that alien is also trying to kill a fellow friend. If anything, Faris should've let Karine out... but I love for the sake of the movie that she didn't. It was so awesome seeing Karin's scared face in the window cursing at Faris, "FARIS, LET ME THE F^(# OUT!!!! FARIS!!!!!"
That whole scene from as soon as Karine is helping Ledward until the crew makes it safely to Davids "sanctuary" was just awesome and so epic. I've watched the movie 3 times so far and each time I just loved the epicness of that reel of film.
I'd be afraid some of those extra clips would make the film as a whole kind of choppy. If there were some filler footage, then it could work, but I don't think there is any that could. Maybe you could find some filler footage with flashbacks made from deleted scenes?
