Hello Scified! It is time for our second script recital. We did Alien last spring and now we will recite Alien Resurrection. There is a prizey prize for the member who delivers the last spoken line of the movie. Mods, Staff and Admin are also members. (The winner will need to PM me with shipping information).

The rules are pretty simple. You can post a line but have to wait to post another until someone else posts the next line. A caveat is if a line is only one to four words long- in that case, you may deliver two lines.

The winner will be the member whom delivers the final line of the script. Posting that line out of sequence of the script is not a win. The intent is to conduct the entire script top to bottom.

I encourage maximum participation. If I see no activity for approximately 24 hours, I will bump the thread with some random silly stuff. Some off script jocularity is allowed but we should not get too off topic. This competition will be several pages long by the time it is done.

To keep us on the same sheet of music, we will use the script provided by Black Winter Witch and AVP Galaxy.

I will give the first line to get it started and show the proper way to post.

Script:

I reserve the right to adjust if things are moving too slowly. ENJOY!

FOR NEWER MEMBERS!!! Here is a link to the last recital in case you are unfamiliar with the general flow:

Ripley - Does it grow?

(As Ridley starts her sentence, Gediman tries to predict what Ripley is going to say.)

Gediman attentively says, "Does it...," shortly after Ripley starts saying those exact same words. (Ripley doesn't like the fact that he acts like he knows everything, including what she is thinking.)

Gediman answers, "Yea. Rapidly."

(Ripley replies in a way which she knows Gediman isn't prepared for.  This will peak is interest, she thinks, but that is good, because he needs to listen to what she is going to say.  Gediman needs to pay attention.)

It's a queen.

TrilobiteMember8212 XPAug-30-2017 7:21 PM

Gediman- How did you know that?

ChestbursterMember611 XPAug-30-2017 8:31 PM

Ripley simply states, "It'll breed. You'll die." (As her own words get a second chance to become real within her mind, she starts to get angry.)  Everyone in the... ****ing... (she searches for the word, then spits it out)company.  Will die. (Ripley is so angry that these aliens that she remembers killing are put on a pedestal with, it seems, at least one other human being she comes across.)(Ripley starts to think the aliens will never die and starts to give up hope.)

I Moon Girl (It shows that you have recently watched the movie and inserted insights into this. I like it and encourage it but I think Ripley may have said something like it not being exactly out of the manual lol!)

Gediman- Company?

ChestbursterMember611 XPAug-31-2017 7:54 PM

"Weyland. Yutani," says Wren in a very, matter-of-fact kind of tone and with a smile on his face. (Wren is ready at the opportunity to show that he knows more Gediman.  Wren's also getting ****y with the success he's been having on the ship full of scientists experimenting with human cloning, most likely illegally and probably for the first time in human history at the level of actually getting living clones.)

(@ dk"It shows that you have recently watched the movie and inserted insights into this."

I try my best at getting the thoughts behind why things happen right.  If I get it wrong, it still allows me to analyze and movie almost like a book, which I end of understanding the story and characters better.  It's fun.)

Wren- Our Ripley's former employers. Terran Growth conglom, had some defense contracts under the military. Before your time. Gediman- they went under decades ago, bought out by Walmart. Fortunes of war.  (To Ripley) You'll find things have changed a good deal since your time.

PraetorianStaff2414 XPSep-01-2017 9:10 PM

Ripley - I doubt that

Wren - We're not flying blind here you know. This is the United Systems Military, not some greedy corporation

gaaaahDuplicate post. I'll make the most of it.

Bump!

(Just watched and almost forgot how enjoyable this movie is)

Ripley- It won't make any...difference...

I.Raptus

PraetorianStaff2414 XPSep-02-2017 12:47 AM

(Ripley stops for a moment puzzled at the familiarity of the sentence. Then continues)

You're still going to die

(it is a enjoyable film agreed)

ChestbursterMember611 XPSep-02-2017 5:46 AM

Wren: And how do you feel about that? (Wren thinks there is no way they could fail and that Ripley is just being paranoid.)

Ripley - {Shrugs} It's your funeral.

Not a map, an invitation

I Moon Girl

ChestbursterMember611 XPSep-02-2017 11:58 AM

(Wren looks jokenly at Ripley, like he's above her.  She is a clone after all, a creation that he had a main part in creating.  So, Wren thinks, he is above her in some evolutionary and intelligent way and doesn't take her concerns very seriously.)

Wren: I wish you could understand what we're trying to do here.  The potential benefits of this race go way beyond urban pacification.  New alloys, new vaccines... there's nothing like this in any world we've seen.  (Wren pauses to think for a second) You should be very proud.

(Wren speaks this in a way like he has rehearsed it.  In a way, he has.  He's always thinking about how the work he is doing is so great.  There is no doubt in his mind that what he, and even Gediman, is doing is the right move and if Ripley, or #8 (according to Wren), doesn't get it, that's not his problem.  It's worth a shot to convince her though.  She is after all an apparent successful clone project.)

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 1:49 PM

Ripley (laughing bitterly)- Oh, I am!

dk

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 2:48 PM

(fun observation. Ripley and call share drinking styles)

(Wren's constant smile gets bigger.) And the animal itself is wondrous.  They'll be invaluable once we've harnessed them.

dk

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 2:53 PM

Ripley- It's a cancer. You can't teach it tricks. (Ripley thinks a bit) Them.

::new scene::

(A vessel starts to approach the ship Ripley and the scientists are on (the Auriga).  The ship is close enough to ask for an authorization code.)

(The captain of the vessel (called The Betty) naturally and loudly voices his code over to the officer asking for it like he's done this many, many, many of times.)

My authorization code is '**** you', son.  Now open the goddamn bay or General Perez is gonna do a Wichita stomp on your virgin ass.

(The captain, Elgyn, than switches off the voice box.)

Partly to himself and to his neighboring mate, Elgyn says, "I guarantee that boy's never seen the inside of a woman."

Elgyn calmly orders his female mate, Hillard, "Bring us in on three-oh descent, ride the parallel."

(He speaks to her like there will be no questions coming from his "order".  They're on the same wavelength and in tune to what needs to be done.  The only question is when and the when is now.)

I.Raptus

PraetorianStaff2414 XPSep-02-2017 3:25 PM

Hillard - Darlin' it is done

Hillard- Darlin', it's done.

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 3:30 PM

Simultaneous posts- they're going to happen. Great minds think alike.

I Moon Girl

ChestbursterMember611 XPSep-02-2017 3:30 PM

(Elgyn replies in the same calming voice)

Don't cut thrust till six hundred meters.  Give 'em a little fright.

(He then runs his his hand over his mates curves in her face and shoulder and barely missing her chest.  She's very attractive, plus she's his mate.  Life is good.  They just need to get this money from this sketchy job from the military in an unrestricted area of space.  He thinks this should be easy,... but you can never tell.)

dk

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 3:37 PM

Elgyn- Christie,! Rise and shine. We're docking.

PraetorianStaff2414 XPSep-02-2017 3:48 PM

Engine room:

Elgyn enters, turning down the music that is blasts from a box in here (Nine Inch Nails)

He leans downs, looks under a prodigious block of machinery - part of the Betty's Engine. Lying on a gurney-like steel dolly, working under the machine is Vriess, Chief Mechanic

Elgyn - How's it looking?

dk

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 3:56 PM

Vriess- Like ****. Like old, worn out, oxidized ****. Hand me that iron.

(Love this movie and i need to check that NIN referense).

I Moon Girl

ChestbursterMember611 XPSep-02-2017 4:23 PM

(Elgyn hands him an old, compact soldering iron.)

(Elgyn starts to loose his calm demeanor after hearing that.)

Is she in shape to get us out of the territories?

(He thinks to himself again, "You never can tell...")

dk

TrilobiteMember8212 XPSep-02-2017 4:52 PM

Vriess- Well, if we can lay over for a couple of days, and the Army is generous with their spare parts, I can give you a definite maybe.

I Moon Girl

ChestbursterMember611 XPSep-02-2017 4:57 PM

(I'm riding on hopes...again.)

Elgyn: Great.

We're coming in now.

(Elgyn rises from his crouch and yells at the top of his lungs.)

Call!!!!!
