I don't think they will adapt these comics, but they can serve as useful sources for new scripts. Or... perhaps for spinoffs?

I am not sure everyone would want to see Xeno vs Xeno Warfare, but i guess a number of people would... i do think its unlikely FOX will take this route though.

But who knows.... i dont even know if FOX know what to do at the moment.

Agree with Ati some of the Dark Horse comics/novelisations could be a good source of inspiration for future films. I think in another thread some time ago we discussed the idea of FOX doing the Earth Wars trilogy + Genocide (the picture above) as a TV series.

To expand the universe they really need to cover the infestation and decline of Earth to the really punch home how dangerous this species is.

They even have some excellent lead characters in Wilkes and Billie (who are basically re-badged Hicks & Newt) but are different and deep enough to be their own characters

My problem with the Dark Horse comics is the introduction of Royal Jelly and resulting Xeno-zip drug which attempts to commoditise the Xenomorph and diminish its worth and mystery. Again it just leads to them space insects with their "honey".

Genocide and the war between the two xenomorph strains could be a very interesting movie if done well!!

I believe a spinoff is a better idea than a prequel or sequel for things like that. I don't think a spinoff can hurt canon as bad as a prequel can. To give an example: the Ewoks movie, admittedly a bad movie, did not change the perception of the Star Wars saga nor infuriated the fans as much as the prequels did. Same with AVP.

Ummm AVP hurted the alien franchise. Remember we where going to have an ALIEN 5 but it was canceled because Paul Fuck Head Anderson pitched AVP and it was all down hill from there.

Yes, a spinoff can put a series into a halt. But it won't change the course of the series or your perception about the series.

...so Paul "FH" Anderson is the one to blame for the stupidity known as "AvP"? Duly noted and actions will be taken from this point on as retribution.

so is that the un-named writer of the short alien5 script is? not really a script but just part of the opening act. it is actually ok but has more of an engineers feel to the opening act with the alien ship appearing from nowhere
