Our "3 or 4 different players" list for Planet 4 visits

I would say three players:

1)Engineers:Which start blame n'shame themself (first step of a war)

2)Weyland-Yutani: Scrapes up what is left on this planet from that bio-weapon

3)A neutral party from earth with no relations to the megacorp:

They heard rumors and hope for wealth

1) mooooore aliens

2) jonesy, the cat. 

3) áll of the 8 David8

4) and an Engineer named Goliath.

4+1) bring Shaw back!!! Covenant was just her nightmare, she wakes up in the cryo pod.

Na just joking. Anyways I like your idea about the Engineer types and the storyline. Maybe it's too much ín one film, but one of them will appear, it's sure.

There were hints about WY, so I also thinks, it appears there.

What will be the 3.? Actually I don't have any good idea, maybe another type of Alien? 

Another type of Alien or Alien race would open things up.  I wonder if they would look at the Mural again and maybe bring the Bird Faced creature from Prometheus.  Join some of the dots, even with a few seconds screen time you could delve into the Mythos.

He says coming in to investigate so that rules out Daniels, David, Tennessee and xenomorphs...as they are already at the location to investigate.

these 4 groups are coming in to investigate which could be one heck of a collision or meet up in space.

i feel that there will obviously be the following:

* The Engineers (the ones from Prometheus) because he clearly stated as much

*More than likely Weyland-Yutani who somehow piece together what David has or is doing...although this would make the next movie take place at least 2-3 yrs after the Covenant as the time to travel to that sector of space was established in Prometheus

* I feel one of the other coming to investigate could be Walter, i have high hopes that he will be included in the next installment, i really liked his character and the elements having him come to the rescue could create in another film

* I hope that the next film's 4th group or faction coming to investigate is some type of high being, one that is above the engineers and very powerful, and horrific, somehow perhaps adding back some of that ancient Lovecraftian cosmic terror feel we had from the 1st installment

I do not think one of the factions will be among the following:

-it wont be some random ship full of humans because at this point in the Alien film timeline there just arent that many ships cruising around Zeta 2 Reticuli

* Colonial Marines, for one that is a construct of Cameron and Ridley has avoided using most if not all Cameron's tweaks to this film universe. Ok let's say he does include them but the Colonial Marines had never heard of this type of creature in Aliens. Of course it could have been a Black Ops mission so only the ones that went knew about so it remained a secret. But the main reason they wont be one of the (4) factions is this, and its a bigee, the Colonial Marines they didn't really exist at this point in time because this is several (7-9) decades before colonization really had starting occurring throughout the universe, thus no actual Colonial Marines. I feel that the Weyland Yutani group of the (4) investigators may have a military faction with them but they will not be separate.

i think that would be awesome and explosive if the 4 groups were those.

I too think there is much more to the Walter story than we got in A:C - after all the hype we have got to surely see more of him

I hope the fluters (elders) return with mighty flute powered weaponry.

But I'd guess the militarized engineers like the ones from lv223, a military or governmental mission from earth, and maybe an inofficial vessel from weyland-yutani sent to investigate and follow davids call with mainly other androids onboard could come around and maybe even clash in combat.

Honestly, if we are talking about the same writers from Covenant, the four parties should be: 1- Engineers in a "blink and you miss it" type of appearance, portrayed as one dimensional villains 2- A Weyland Yutani party comprised of... more villains, of course 3- Another expendable crew of dumb people we are supposed to care for 4- David, who beats out everybody else in the end (because we all want to see Fassbender in every Alien movie, right?), and makes a lot of bombastic pseudo philosophical soliloquies about the beauty and tragedy of being a synthetic bent on claiming a domineering place in the Creation's tableau. And the xenomorph? you might ask.. well, they will find the way to shove it into the narrative. I am completely not interested anything Ridley Scott wants to do with this unlikely sequel unless we get different writers and producers with the "balls" (think Kathleen Kennedy) to do what they have to do if something as grotesque as Covenant's "artistic license" tries to derail another chapter of the long suffering Alien franchise.

Want a better story, not just more players (or God forbid, the same players).

lessee...This ought to be better than a sequel with just David running amuck...

1) Engineers (the higher budget kind with the kinky suits and the dark eyes) - I presume they were out in space doing what they do when all this went down. They return for their periodic visitation to find their planet FUBAR. They probably won't be thrilled by all this.

2) Ones above the Engineers - Most likely these are the race that the Engineers serve and could be the ones who seeded earth...or maybe not... Not sure if the Engineers rebelled against them or are still in their service. We'll know when RS figures it out. Also, I don't think that they will be thrilled about the Paradise planet getting jacked up either.

3) Weyland-Yutani corporation - If it is corrupt and profitable, they will span the cosmos getting to it. Lots of profit to glean form bio-engineering so called "perfect organisms." I am sure they knew a lot more about Alien races than they let on to both the crews of Prometheus and covenant.  Plenty of corporate suits will get ginsued, sliced, and diced in the process...

4) Ellen Freaking Ripley! Enuff said!

I think for RS to say 3-4 is Key because it maybe means that the 3rd-4th are connected well One Player is connected to another where they may be seen as actually part of the same Player/Purpose.

What kind of Player can become a Duel Player?

1) David/Xenomorph

Thus Davids Agenda and his Xenomorph creations, but as pointed out he is already on that Ship... but the comment by RS seems to point to them arriving at a Planet.. where the Key Players will not doubt be Meeting up.... which then we could mean Davids Creations are one of those Key Players.

2) W-Y/Military Marines etc

David did leave a message to the company to inform them that the Covenant is off to Origae-6, so its likely the Company sends off a Mission to investigate/intercept... the Question is do they head towards Origae-6 or do they investigate why the Covenant took a detour?  So this mission regardless will maybe be more a of Science Division with a Military Element.

3) Engineers/Elders

Paradise would seem to be a Sacrificial Place where the Hierarchy above the Engineers or those beings on Paradise will return from time to time, and between their last visit and next one they discover this place has been wiped out.. a Genetic Pool Destroyed and Corrupted, and from a Genetic Space Gardeners point of view.. this is a big problem for them if they deem those beings on Paradise as more Pure Genetic Stock which to Seed Worlds with.  The Question is do these beings know of LV-223, do they know what it became (Xeno-strain related Experiments) and if so or not... surely they would do soon...  We can assume at very least they would see the results of Paradise and then set down to the Crashed Juggernaught and use its Recording Technology to discover Humanoids on this ship (Dr Shaw/David) and then Plot the route they had taken (from LV-223) and so then its do they intercept the Covenant? how would they track this ship or have knowledge of it and its destination.. the likely answer would be from Walter.

4) David/AI

After David had input his special code, MUTHUR referred to him as David we have to wonder how David had this code and how it effects the System... does MUTHUR already have a hidden code, reserved for David 8... this would imply that there is more to the Mission and Ships AI than meets the eye and that AI is playing a Key Role back at the Company.  Alternatively Davids code activates some kind of Virus/Software override... but this would be odd how David via a code can send over a new Code/Software update that was not already in bedded into the System.

There we have 4 Players... where 1+2 connected to David in various forms...

Another Player could well be...

*Those who have a Agenda/Disagreement with the W-Y company Merger, its Agenda or indeed the whole Origae-6 mission... and so maybe the kind of conspiracy/espionage and Saboteurs that the Alien Covenant Prequel Book released in September will cover.

I think another thing we need to consider is the PLANET..

Paradise is a place the ENGINEERS (one of the Players) will return too

We have to wonder what the W-Y Company or other Factions on Earth would want to do with the information they gain from Covenant... they are aware of its Destination Origae-6 but what would Prompt them to intercept or arrive at Origae-6 what is so important about Origae-6 as the Covenant Crew discovered that Paradise may had been more Suitable place..  so if any such Companies want to wonder why the Covenant did not go to Origae-6 as Planned would they want to go to Origae-6?  Or would they too want to investigate WHY and WHERE the Covenant had stopped off First?

This could bring these Players to Paradise too.

We have to then consider Davids Agenda... he has 2000 colonists... he has TWO Face Huggers.. a lot depends on his intentions for these, and how they Can Procreate... if this Life-Cycle does not produce a Egg Morph, or Queen.. Then the only ways David can produce a Mass of Eggs/Xenomorphs is.

a) Go to LV-223 to obtain more Black Goo.

b) Use Equipment on the Covenant in a attempt to Genetically Clone the Embryos or Spice the DNA with other Embryos or a Human... but does David have the expertise and Tools to Genetically Alter Xeno-DNA with Human Colonist to Produce more related Organisms or Eggs.

c) Go back to Paradise to obtain more Eggs/Organisms and maybe Black Goo

so we have to look at it from Davids point of view if he wants to destroy Mankind then he would need more than a Covenant Earth ship and TWO Xenomorphs depending again on how these can Procreate.

Or maybe Origae-6 is ideal for David due to its distance which is 7 years away from Paradise give or take.. which could give him plenty of time to travel far away and set up a colony of his creations... again this depends on how they can Procreate...   Which if they cant then brings us to David needing to detour to LV-223 (bit closer to Home)  or back to Paradise to pick up a few Eggs/Black Goo

You would say going to LV-223 first especially after the company has been contacted is risky to Davids Agenda unless the Company or Company AI is/would be on Davids side.

So going back to Paradise is more wiser move for David... leaving him more years to turn the Colonist into a Army of Xenomorph and Eggs... as he has plenty of experiments and Eggs and the Black Goo on Paradise.... one problem is how Disabled is WALTER..?

David was looking over his shoulders when he ran to make it to the Lander, so he was not 100% convinced Walter is Destroyed.

so i think these are things to consider.

You mention the potential of David taking the Covenant back to LV 223. This could help the SJ puzzle. LV 426 is apparently next to LV 223. 

If David does goto LV223 for more Goo - then it is increasingly likely that David is the SJ. Bearing in mind this may be the last prequel and with the planets being close it is worth a thought. I cant see how you would link it in one film otherwise. Given the vast distances of the various planets.

This doesnt mean it has to be David - someone in direct conflict with him or Walter or an Engineer type is also plausible.

1 - Engineers

2 - Weyland-yutani

Then I have sensible and not so sensible comments. Which do I choose?

3 - "Elders" or the dude's in the teardrop ship from the start of Prometheus.

4 - Can't think of anything logical, unless it's a "player" we haven't met yet.

Edit: Number 4 could be Walter chasing down his doppelganger with perfect chin. He wants that chin back!

Ranting Xeno - Cool back up list. And yes poor Mork will be  stretch unless we recast a new actor. as u say Robin Williams  is doubtful at the present to re prise the role ;)

I think the other parties are the Engineers and Weyland-Yutani, but Ridley talked about the plot being written now as having to do with the colony disintegrating and religion, so I'm pretty sure David will be taking them to Origai 6. Perhaps he sets himself up as their ruler and God. He will need a certain amount of sacrifices to experiment on weekly, for the greater good of course :) 

Here is what RS has said recently about Covenant 2:

"I always thought the journey would be very much embedded, at least 50% in religion. Security blanket. You can go there next. When I get there, I'm looking at the colonies and what happens, and how it disintegrates…it's being written now."

"Whether we bring Daniels back or not in the next one…she has to come back..I'm not sure that's the right thing".

Sounds like RS is either trolling or senile at this point.

BWW, maybe it's the other way around. Demons are deceptive by nature. Who knows... 

I think maybe David will take them to Origae-6 explain away the death of Daniels.. The Covenant Mission... maybe if he also gets rid of Tennessee then David could pretend to be Walter, especially if he repairs himself.

They set down on Origae-6 and start to transport all thats needed to colonize this World... where then David proclaims himself as GOD and uses the Xenomorph as his Tool to subject those Colonists to his Rule.

Maybe... i just think the Religious themes are bound to follow on with David now wanting to be GOD of his New Kingdom.

But then Religious themes could play in the Engineers objective and Agenda too...  I hope that Origae-6 will not be a World that already has Humanoid life and also is not connected to the Engineers.. as this is a bit lazy and too much of  a coincidence.

Hey BD - Great thoughts yet again.

Regarding Davids plan with the colonists, I never really considered the chance that David may want to rule the colony. Indeed him killing Danny and Tee and any evidence of his works would put him in a good position to rule and become "God" which is something I did think was in his plans but my thoughts were regarding the Xenos his final strand of perfection. Governing a planet of Xenos would be his army and he could start from therr. Infecting other worlds from his LV223 LIKE base.

So actually starting a colony for humans only under his command, creating a world that he wants whatever that looks like is a very interesting idea.

This may take more than one film but it is certainly something we could debate for some time. The possibilities and reasoning behind his choices are limitless and interesting at the same time.

A little bit like the potential Prometheus created with so many possibilities. We may yet grow to love A:C;) for these reasons?

I cant remember the synthetics name from fire and stone but im thinking similarities between the xeno and david and his use for them. the perfect creation, created by the perfect being used to cleanse the galaxy of the imperfect and undeserving

David, humans, Walter and the vengeful engineers who will try to punish David. Xenos and other life forms don't count.

Surely Walter has a massive part to play. All that marketing, development etc.. just for him to be killed by an older model is just like what they done with Shaw, they built her up and she wasnt really in A:C
