Today I was checking something about Peter Weyland history:
https://www.weylandindustries.com/timeline
And I have found a lot of information about this impressive mate from Weyland Co. files, I am intrigued by this weird guy or Antichrist, possibly the character that most strikes me from the whole Alien saga, is a virtual unknown at the time, an autobiographical film about him sure would be amazing!,
I mean a sci-fi-drama film based on the life of P. W. and focuses on their ambitions and plots. what do you think about it?

There is a timeline-problem in ALIEN UNIVERSE, who is in charge on Weyland Co. when Nostromo mission and who expels the Special Order 937?

I play with the idea that David is in charge somehow. Or, if David dies before the Nostromo mission, then he has already programmed Mother to respond to the beacon before he dies.

I think a TV show for a couple of seasons about Peter Weyland would be a unique and interesting idea. I am not sure if it would be widely popular thought. I guess it would have to appeal to the masses in addition to being accurate to the story. That could be tough. If they could just get a couple seasons out of it, I think that would be cool. I'd watch it!

I agree, a tv series would be a good idea. Not a big one, just some episode and thats all. But im also interested in some other character, not just P.W., but Wickers, Shaw... Oh, i want a full season about Jonesy, the cat... ;)

Indeed i think RS is going the route that the AI is running the show....
As far as a movie on the WY Company or even Peter Weyland i cant see it happening, but i do think these things could be covered in Books.... The Alien Covenant Prequel book looks set to cover some of the company shena****ns

It'd have to be done VERY carefully or it could totally trainwreck like the CAPRICA series did, which had a similar kind of idea.

@Roger55, i would probably say yutani or offspring of yutani(theorising), we know vickers died on lv-223 and wether weyland had any other offspring to take control is a mystery.
BigDave could be on the correct path, looking more likely.
@BlackWinter, lol, Caprica died a miserable death, we all knew baltar created the cylons, it would have been better starting the series with the attack on caprica, revolving a story around that, then leading to the exodus of the colonies.

Any time, you stat tossing corporate intrigue and espionage into a sci-fi franchise, things go south quickly. SCI-FI fans want a good paced storyline, not a billion different back-story threads that have you scrambling to keep up.
It's a surefire way to send this franchise to an early grave. Give us a fleshed out storyline with good character development and the Alien franchise and it will flourish.
Give us clock and dagger, and it's over...

suwhited Summed it up perfectly I'd say.

Depends on many things that would be a failure, if there is a good screenwriter behind the story it does not have to be a failure. Alien Covenant is focused on David character mainly, this movie has been a failure because is an irrelevant figure, unlike that Weyland, a very dark and unknown person, no one knows who he really is. Time to time, maybe could be an unexpected success. How knows.
