We usually see them serving in a scientific or military contexts, though there are hints that they are for domestic use too. The Meet Walter website had a number of interesting concepts, I don't know why but the idea of the "Manny" Walter is especially amusing to me. Perhaps because I can easily imagine the media attacking "kids these days" for being too reliant on their Walters. There's also a "Romantic" one, fully functional and anatomically correct, I assume!
Do we get more of an insight into synthetics on Earth in the books or comics? How do you think society would change if we did have synthetics?

MemberOvomorphJun-10-2017 12:39 PMIm also interested in the Earth... In the films there are some discussion about it, but yes, we 've never seen it before.
In another topic somebody talked about tv series about Peter Weyland. I d really enjoy if this universe expand this way. Ín the episodes characters are introduced, or in this way we know their story, personality better... And could be some episode about Earth, about robots in the everyday life etc.

MemberPraetorianJun-10-2017 3:26 PMThe movie 'I, Robot' I always felt was a good idea of what Earth is like about 10 to 20 years prior to Prometheus, and things continue on with robots, but Synthetics enter the market as the High-End products.
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

MemberDeaconJun-10-2017 3:58 PMI think it would be interesting but i would imagine it would look similar to what has been covered in a number of other movies.
I cant see FOX backing on a W-Y Universe on screen in this way, but certainly as a Series of Books i can. I think the only W-Y Movie they would be interested in would have to include the Marines
to FOX i think Alien, David/AI, Ripley, Marines are the order of importance
