Colossal was cool - I can see Vigalondo doing an ALIEN film.

MemberNeomorphJun-09-2017 6:32 PM"..This latest film shows no signs of the returning master chef, Ridley Scott, struggling to create that signature dish. The theme of the Alien franchise itself takes center stage. All effort is spent explaining the location, and lore of the alien, while the meal itself is an afterthought. In this context Scott is a creation of the Alien franchise, and – like David in Prometheus – his role is as the franchise representative and selector of ingredients, not as the curator of the taste or director of customer service. As a viewer though, that's not what I want to see. The design of the restaurant sign, who the owner is – I don't care about any of these things. In fact, it's not important to me who the chef is. When I visit one of my favorite restaurants, I want to enjoy the flavor and the service. I go to see the movie, because I want to know how the ingredients – in this case the DNA of Alien – are going to be prepared. The horror of Alien, the action of Aliens, I want to taste that sense of surprise again." (excerpt from Hideo Kojima's essay)

MemberPraetorianJun-09-2017 6:32 PMOH, with a GOOD scriptwriter, this could save and revitalize (not reboot) the franchise!!

MemberTrilobiteJun-09-2017 7:05 PMHideo could definitely bring the scary- maybe get some of the shelved Silent Hills fear going! I would love to see some HK involved in movie writing- some of his games have been more movies with bits of interactive play for a while lol!

MemberTrilobiteJun-09-2017 7:25 PMI never saw Colossal but from HK games I have experienced his unique way of getting into the player's head to cause fear/uneasiness. That might be an interesting element to bring to the Alien franchise.

MemberFacehuggerJun-09-2017 8:47 PMjoylitt - right on!!!
Every article about Covenant, pre-Kojima's, has just been ho-hum. Finally, with Kojima, he puts Scott and the Franchise in a better light, at least in my opinion. I hope the suits at FOX read the article; this is good press for the franchise, especially since Japan gets Covenant in September.
It would be fascinating to have Vigalondo thrown in the mix of the ALIEN franchise. Colossal was indeed an entertaining film.
Rolling Stone also posted the article - http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/iconic-game-designer-hideo-kojima-on-alien-covenant-w486833 - this is good, this is very good.
Check out the Colossal trailer to get an idea of Vigalondo's style.

MemberFacehuggerJun-10-2017 1:54 AMWell hideo is just saying the same things all the saine people in here have been saying since Prometheus.
I was playing mgs phantom pain last night on ps4 and although it's a masterpiece of technological mastery a matter chef as such :D . Its also utterly bonkers with the story line i do wonder if hideo would be able to make a good movie. It well end up just as muddled... have you watched the mgs full story line... I'm still decrypting it :s.

Hmm.... kinda got that slightly immature feeling lots of Japanese stuff has with bits all over the place not quiet adding up. Love the game though.

MemberNeomorphJun-10-2017 2:07 AMdjamelameziane It is two separate items on that headline. Kojima does not say he would like to do an Alien movie. The other guy does.

MemberFacehuggerJun-10-2017 8:22 AMHonestly, I don't care who it is, just give me logical characters who speak like former military. It can't get any worse imo and I certainly don't want a sequel that is all androids or davidwalter in the engineer suit on 426

MemberFacehuggerJun-10-2017 3:23 PM@joylitt dk was the one talking hideo writing for alien... and yes if Prometheus was the same but was solid logically it would of been a pretty good start... gutsy half of AC didn't do too badly but then after that ...:(
