Despite these numbers, I very grateful for all this information Ati, when I m reading the newspapers and press blaming against a great director like Scott, it makes me sick, if this project Alien Covenant goes to hell, I will blame to the screenwriters first, and second to FOX for choosing such bad writers!

Yes, I hope he focuses on good projects that will allow him to get his long deserved Oscar. He has a good shot with this ransom drama he's filming now.

@Joylitt
I'm afraid Alien Covenant is very poorly written by people who do not know any idea, but I'm a weird guy and I love the Art since little, and Alien Covenant is just a strange black jewel, jelly and slimy.

If it takes another 100 million mainly from China and Japan plus 40 million from DVD and Blu Ray sales ( which Prometheus achieved) thats 300 million
I understand in needs to double its production budget to break even (200 million)
I think thats enough to pave the way for the next instalment

It'll do another 25 million domestic, maybe the rest of the international market run with China and Japan will yield 100 million but that's a stretch. I'm thinking realistically another 60 to 80 million International. So I'm thinking your on the right track. Remember Prometheus with Blu-ray and VOD would be at 443 million roughly unadjusted. So even with the 33 million lower budget that's still a significantly lower profit margin if we use the 2.5 multiplier to break even. Meaning Prometheus needed 325 million to break even and Covenant needs 242 million. So I'm thinking they'll take 300 million. So 260 to 280 million worldwide plus 40 in VOD Blu-ray. I think Fox would be happy enough with $300 to 320 million and that would be enough to greenlight a sequel.
